The Study On Famen Mingyi Ji In Dunhuang Manuscript

"FaMen MingYi Ji" is one article about the Buddha mingxiang and fashu composed by Li Shizheng, who is the famous lay Buddhist at the beginning of Tang. We can't see the description in every kind of literature, and it been manner knows until Dunhuang literature was found in the 20th century.This thesis divides into two parts. In the first part, a study of Dunhuang and traditional literature reveals that, when the "FaMen MingYi Ji" was written, the account of the author'life, and the status of the Yangcheng-gong. There also have some study about the content of the work. In the other part, I take P.2119 compare with other manuscripts, and have published the full text, which corrects many mistakes of the existing edition.The Dunhuang manuscript indicated that it once transcribed and studied by the monk and the lay Buddhists, for which had the usability. After near modern age are reorganized records of the article, the learners treating it as the dictionary. Therefore, the discussion about "FaMen MingYi Ji" in this thesis, is not only helpful in makes up insufficiency of historical data, moreover may increase a more accurate dictionary for the modern Buddha academic.
