The study of the modern fictions of Lingnan is from 1840 to 1919.During this period,it had appeared many classical writers in the Lingnan region,such as Ni Hung,Huang Hongzao,Zheng Guanying,Wu Jianren,Huang Boyao,Jiang Shanyuan,He Zou,Su Manshu etc. The classical fictions of Lingnan included both the traditional set of classical literary sketches and short fiction publishded in newspaper.The classical fictions of Lingnan are not only inheritance in Qing Fiction and the tradition of a certain geographical features of the novel,but also to learn from foreign countries to create artistic fiction novels, In short,in Modern Fiction in theorthodox.Confucianism began to shake, the new idea has not yet formed, reflecting the blend of traditional features and new changes.The modern Lingnan Fictions are divided into traditional type and newspaper type in this essay. And through the study of the themes, ideas and culture, the auther summarizes the creation of Fiction in Modern features. In the art form, these two styes of Lingnan modern fiction have the same side, and there are different sides. Such as the language use, these fictions were writen with the classical languge which can be understanded easily, but they also have many different points in the narrative structure, narrative technique, and characters shaped. In order to reflect the culture of Lingnan, the classical novelists are enthusiastically celebrating the natural beauty of Guangdong, the historical figures and peoples'living habits from different aspects.Overall, achievements Fiction in Modern is not very prominent, but there have been widely circulated works such as "Sui Qinlou","Duanhong Lingyan Ji", "Suizan Ji" and "Jiangsha Ji". It can be said that "Sui Qinlou" and "Duanhong Lingyan ji" were laid in Modern Fiction in Modern Chinese Literary History.
