Preparation And Preliminary Application Of College Students' Career Self-efficacy Scale

The conception of self-efficacy is proposed by Bandura, reflecting confidence degree of oneself. Career self-efficacy is one part of application of self-efficacy theory. There are many types of self-efficacy in career field in different levels On the continuum of self-efficacy. Career self-efficacy mentioned in this article a general one in the career field,It means self-confidence refers to the individual career development, lying on the second level under the General Self-efficacy. The main purpose of this study is to compiled a career self-efficacy scale.To achieve the main purpose, four parts were given. First of them is overview about the whole study, including the origin of this study, research significance, the method of the study and structure of this article. Second, some theories were listed, such as self-efficacy, career self-efficacy, construction and principle of the scale preparation. The third part of this paper stated the compiling process of the questionnaire. In the last part, the scale constructed were applied to college students, viewing 5 factors.In order to collectimeasure topics, we interview and discuss with 9 professionals, reference three questionnaires, which relate to career self-efficacy. To make the information more truly,100 open questionnaires were provided. On this basis, we collect 50 topics, and do two rounds of tests. At last,20 topics were reserved. In addition, the author questionnaires another 420 students to validate the scale.Consequently, the research confirmed that five dimensions were included in the scale, also in career self-efficacy. They are future expectation, self assessment, Independent control, overcome difficulties and ability confidence. Although all the measurement indexes are meets the requirements, the scale constructed firstly by the researcher can not be applied widely, lots of things should be validated comprehensively and meticulously.
