The Relationship Among Self-disclosure, Self-monitor And Social Anxiety To The College Students

In modern society, the social anxiety disorder has become one of the various psychological disorders unneglected by the college students. The social intercourse ability has become one of the most important indexes which can measure one's ability, especially it determining one's level of future achievements directly. According to the situation of modern society, this article adopts Interaction Anxiousness Scale (IAS), Jourard Self-disclosure Questionnaire (JSDQ) and self-monitoring scale (SMS) by considering the existing theories and research; and have a deeply exploration about the main features of and relationships between self-disclosure, self-monitor and social anxiety, using method of MANOVA, regression and mediator effect,so as to provide theory basis for mental health education. So this article has important practical significance. The result shows:(1)Social anxiety state of college students exist obviously. The level of social anxiety presents a normal distribution, but the average level tends to be a little right turn. The demography only behaves obviously in the variable of region, the other variables behaving unobvious. It seems to have an obvious interaction effect between gender and grade..(2) The level of college students'self-disclosure presents a normal distribution. The dimensions of self-disclosure in the demographic variable only gender behaves obviously, the others behave unobvious. The target man of self-disclosure also behaves obvious in the demographic variable of gender, the others unobvious. The interaction effect between the gender and the grade variable behaves obvious both in the dimension and the target man.(3) The level of college students self-monitoring presents a normal distribution. The differences on the demographic variables behave unobvious; only have an obvious interaction effect between the gender and the grade variable.(4)Different levels of social anxiety group have an obvious effect on both the factor of self-disclosure and self-monitoring. The self-disclosure individuals have a low level of self-disclosing, the self-monitor individuals having a high level of self-monitoring on high level of social anxiety group. On the contrary, when the level of social anxiety is low,the self-disclosure individuals have a high level of self-disclosing, the self-monitor individuals having a low level of self-monitoring.(5)The social anxiety individuals have an obvious correlation with self-monitor and self-disclosure individuals. It has an obvious positive correlation with self-monitor variable, having an obvious negative correlation with self-disclosure variable..(6) The regression effect of social anxiety variable with self-monitor and self-disclosure variable is very obvious. The self-monitor variable has a strong forecast to the social anxiety variable, the self-disclosure variable having a weaker forecast to the social anxiety variable.(7)The self-disclosure variable plays partly mediator effect.Self-monitor variable acts positive forecast directly to the social anxiety variable, also it acts positive forecast indirectly to the social anxiety variable through self-disclosure variable.
