World Heritage is unique, non-renewable, it has a great significance for the history, reality and future of human being. Mount Taishan World Heritage is the first World Mixed Heritage Site, it has an outstanding universal value for the study of heritage protection.This paper makes a research into areas as followes:1. Made a survey on the types and distribution of Mount Taishan heritage resources. Establish the evaluation system of heritage resources, conduct comprehensive and systematic assessment of evaluation of Mount Taishan Heritage resources to certify its real value.2. Analyze the tourism status of Taishan heritage, conduct a questionnaire survey of tourists, find that tourism revenues continued growing from 2000 to 2010, with a growing number of overseas visitors though yet not many. Through the SWOT analysis of Mount Taishan Heritage resources, Mount Taishan has strengths in resources, brands and location, but also hsa some problems in tourism types and management. Scenic spots developed near Mount Taishan also constitute a great challenge.3. In accordance with theory of sustainable development, the paper points out main problems of Mount Taishan Heritage: threats caused by destructive construction, uneven carrying capacity of recreation, destroyed plants and soil, polluted tourism environment, tourists'short sojourn time and relatively less international tourists. This paper has some suggestions for the management and development of Mount Taishan heritage resources: carry out government-involved, investment-increased strategies, carry out unified management and institutional innovation, promote the national mountain brand, strengthen publicity, strictly control carrying capacity of recreation, balance the benefits between scenic spots and community.4. Comparing Mount Taishan heritage with other mixed heritage site. According to the election requirements for the world heritage, the paper analyzes the qualifications of two cases and their difficulties in applying for world mixed heritage.
