The development of Chinese character is a changing process, people's study on which changing time over time. Since the twentieth century, the emergence of the term"Modern Chinese" has led to many controversies and research results. For the study of modern Chinese characters, we not only shape it, tune it, define it, standardize it, but also find suitable ways of teaching modern Chinese characters from the analysis of modern Chinese characters, making it easy to use.This paper focuses on the study of the traditional"six book"theory and teaching of modern Chinese characters, through the development of Chinese character construction ,explain that the traditional "six-book" theory is not suitable for modern Chinese teaching, methods more suited to teaching of modern Chinese characters is needed. To the study of modern Chinese characters, we can not completely reject the traditional"six book"theory, should combine it with a new Chinese character structural theory, then apply it to the actual teaching of modern Chinese characters'form, sound and meaning.The first part is a summary about the research on modern Chinese characters teaching in recent years, which is explained from two research aspects: Chinese characters constructing theory and modern Chinese characters teaching method. This can make readers understand in this aspect, then lead the opinin the author wants to say.The second part integrates various researchs, summarize the traditional "six-book" theory.The third part makes a statement about the different understanding of the term "Modern Chinese", in which the representatives of the various views are presented.The fourth part, through the evolution of Chinese characters and Chinese characters constructing theory, explains that the traditional "six-book" theory can not fully adapt to the modern Chinese teaching, and we need raise more conducive methods to modern Chinese teaching.The fifth part firstly analyzes the exploration people having made in modern Chinese teaching, showing its benefit and harm, secondly, according to the point combining the traditional"six-book"theory and the new Chinese structure theory, put forward three reasonable ways: form and meaning associated teaching; font family theory teaching; set-no fixed teaching, making elaborating respectively.Part VI is a summary of the full text.
