This paper selects five synonyms which are depending on “meng”. These are“meng”,“mengde(猛地)”,“mengran(猛然)”,“mengranjian(猛然间)” and“mengranzhijian(猛然之间)”. The paper distinguishes their characteristics by analyzingtheir features in semantic, sentence structure and pragmatics, then puts forward theadvices in compiling the dictionary of Chinese as a foreign language and in teachingsequence in the classroom. The paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter: Introduction; this part mainly describes the background,significance, methods and corpus of the paper. We find that the researches at present arerarely combined the Chinese and teaching systematically together about synonyms,especially there is not so much research in putting forward the advices in compiling thedictionary of Chinese as a foreign language.The second chapter: The evolution and analysis about the semantics of these fivewords. By referencing the explanations in Chinese dictionaries and inspecting thelanguage database, the paper analysis the history evolution about these five words andconcludes the meanings and using which are retained in Modern Chinese.The third chapter: The grammatical analysis about these five words. This partmainly inspects the differences among the five words from their characteristics andsyntactic characteristics. By analyzing database, then concludes their differences andtheir syntactic items’ frequency ranking. Those can be references to the compilingdictionary and arrangement to teaching sequence.The fourth chapter: The advisory opinions about compiling the dictionary of Chineseas a language. Now Chinese dictionaries in the academic circles are usually divided intotwo kinds which are introverted and extroverted. Introverts dictionary refers to nativeChinese speakers and export-oriented dictionaries for the person who regards Chinese assecond language. This part puts forward the advisory opinions about compiling dictionarydepends on the analysis above.The fifth chapter: The teaching sequence in classroom about these five words. For the purpose of teaching Chinese as a foreign language effectively, the classroom teachingshould be flexible and efficient. Teachers can refer to their semantic and syntacticstructure of commonly used degree, teaching them from the most frequently used to theleast by step to step.The last chapter: Conclusion. Summarizes the researching work, and points out theinnovations and shortcomings of this article.
