Obejects: To investigate the value of predicting acute coronary syndrome(ACS) and estimating it's prognosis by checking the alteration of serum concentrations of serum amyloid A(SAA) before and 1h, 12h after pecutaneous coronary intervention(PCI), then comparing them with the serum concentrations of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) and cardiac troponin T(cTnT); to estimate the likely myocardium injury by PCI to revascμLarize. Methods: A total of 70 coronary heart disease patients who were going to undergo PCI, and divided into ACS group (n=30) and SAP group (n=40), while 20 objects who were normal confirmed by coronary arteriography(CAG)were enrolled in control group. Serum concentrations of SAA, hs-CRP and cTnT were determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)before and 1h ,12h after PCI of all the groups. We recorded the total time, pressure and times of balloon-expansion and the number of tentings we used in PCI in detail, then compared the resμLts of all the items above and explored their correlations. Major adverse cardiac events(MACE) were observed in 6- months follow up.ResμLts:1 The serum concentrations of SAA, hs-CRP and cTnT were higher than SAP group and control group in the ACS group obviously before PCI(P<0.01); the serum concentrations of SAA hs-CRP were much higher in the SAP group than the control group(P<0.01), but there was no difference in cTnT.2 There was no difference between ACS group and SAP group respectively in the serum concentrations of SAA, hs-CRP and cTnT before and 1h after PCI apparently, but they ascended 12h later(P<0.05). No difference before and after PCI in control group. 3 The raising of SAA concentration was positively correlated with the total pressure, time and times of balloon-expansion in PCI (P=0.001,0.001,0.007,respecti vely).4 The serum level of SAA was positively correlated with the level of hs-CRP and cTnT(P<0.001).5 Visit resμLt: During 6 months'visit, 5 patients suffered from MACE, including one myocardial infarction, 2 recurrence of angina pectoris, one PCI-again and one death. MACE took place in those patients whose serum concentrations of and SAA,hs-CRP were very high.Conclusions:1 SAA may be an valuable predictor of ACS.2 The less total pressure, time and times of balloon-expansion in PCI, the milder myocardial injury by PCI.3 SAA may be risk factors for patients after PCI.
