Objective: To evaluate the relationship of serum amyloid A(SAA), high sensitive C-reactive protein(Hs-CRP) and plaque character of coronary atherosclerotic by 64-slice spiral computed tomography coronary angiography. Methods : 120 patients were enrolled from september 2007 to september 2008 in Shanxi Province People's Hospital in the Study, all of them underwent 64-slice spiral CT coronary angiography. And 90 patients were coronary heart disease (CHD) tested by coronary angiography(CAG). The other 30 patients have no plaque as control group. According to the CT scale, the CHD patients were divided into three groups: soft plaque group (CT scale< 60 HU(Hounsfeild Units)), mix plaque group (CT scale between 60~129 HU) and hard plaque group (CT scale≥130 HU). People who have soft plaque belong to soft plaque group, only have hard plaques belong to hard plaque group, the left belong to mix plaque group. Blood samples were taken to measure levels of serum Hs-CRP,SAA before angiography in all patients.Result : (1) The mean levels of serum Hs-CRP,SAA in three plaque groups were obvious higher than these in control group (P<0.01),Mean levels of serum Hs-CRP,SAA in soft plaque group and mix plaque group were obvious higher than those in hard plaque group (P<0.01), but there is no statistical difference between mix plaque group and soft plaque group (P>0.05). (2) There is positive correlation between the SAA and Hs-CRP (r=0.725,P<0.01). (3) There is significant difference between the Gensini score being >20 and Gensini score<20(P<0.01). And there is no significant difference between the socre 20-40 and those >40(P>0.05). (4) The levels of serum Hs-CRP or SAA were no differences existed in single vessel disease, two vessel disease, multiple vessel disease.Conculsion: (1) serum Hs-CRP,SAA levels can be considered as one of the indexes to judge the degree of CHD and may reflect the vulnerability of plaque in CHD patient. (2) Combining 64-slice spiral CT coronary angiography with serum levels of Hs-CRP,SAA could contribute preferably to distinguishing coronary artery vulnerable plaque and vulnerable patinet in clinic, it is important for clinical diagnosis and risk evaluation of CHD patient.
