Objective: To discuss the relationship of colon polyps. colon cancer and Helicobacter pylori infection. Discuss the relationship between Helicobacter pylori infection and the colon polyps, colon cancer. The relationship of HP wi- th plasma gastrin-17,cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) expression of the colon polyps , colon cancer. And the incidence of Helicobacter pylori in colon polyps, colon cancer in the process of the role. To find a valuable theoretical basis for prevention and treatment of colon polyps and colon cancer. With a view to provide some reasonable guidance and assistance for treatment and prevention of colon polyps, colon cancer. Methods: Selecte 60 cases of colorectal polyps patients and 60 cases of colon cancer patients from June 2008 ~ June 2009 in Tangshan Workers Hospital between colonoscopy and surgical resection line, 72 males and 48 females, with an average age of 56.6 years ( 40-82 years old), while collect 60 cases of colonoscopy negative as controls, through the carbon 13 breath test detect wether there are Helicobacter pylori infection in patients, respectively. The positive rate of HP infection in colon polyp, colorectal cancer group and in the control were compared. Also according to negative and positive HP infection of the above three groups , plasma gastrin-17 were compared. The biopsy will be obtained for 60 cases of colorectal polyps and 60 cases of colon cancer histopathological specimens, according to test results. Helicobacter pylori-negative group and positive group of polyps were devided.Helicobacter pylori-negative group and positive group of colon cancer were devided. And using immunohistochemistry to detect the four specimens in the expression of COX-2, and the expression of COX-2 positive rates were compared. The use of image analysis counting the number of positive cells in a slice, take optical vision under the microscope 5 per square millimeter (10×40) the average number of positive cells as a counting standard. Number of positive cells or less than 10% points recorded for the negative specimens, 10% -50% judged to be weakly positive (+), recorded 1 point, greater than 50% judged to be moderately positive (++),recorded two points, more than 75% judged to be strong positive (+++),recorded three points. All patients had no history of familial adenomatous polyposis, nearly four weeks had not taken antibiotics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), proton pump inhibitors or corticosteroids, all patients had no chemotherapy and radiotherapy for cancer, and other special treatment. The positive rate of Helicobacter pylori of the normal control group, colon polyps and colon cancer using a four-frame tableχ2 test, data indicated that expression of intensity level, using Spearman rank correlation, Wilcoxon rank sum test groups were compared, all the statistical analysis of the use of SPSS13.0 statistical software, P<0.05 as significant standards.Result: 1, The positive rate of Helicobacter pylori in patients with colon polyps was 80% and the positive rate in patients with colon cancer was 63.3%, he positive rate in normal physical examination was 23.3%, The positive rate of HP infection of colon polyp was significantly higher than the normal medical group, the positive rate of HP infection in the two group was statistically significant(P<0.05), The positive rate of HP infection of the colon cancer was higher than the normal medical group, the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05). 2, the normal control group, HP-positive plasma gastrin G-17 levels (1.67±0.22pmol / L) was significantly higher than HP-negative group (1.44±0.29 pmol / L) (P <0.05), the two groups was statistically significant; colon polyps HP-positive plasma gastrin -17 levels (2.15±0.33 pmol / L) was significantly higher than HP-negative group (1.83±0.34 pmol / L) (P<0.05), the two group was statistically significant; colon HP-positive plasma gastrin -17 levels (2.47±0.34 pmol / L) was significantly higher than HP-negative group (2.19±0.32 pmol / L) (P <0.05), two groups have more statistical significance. And the gastrin -17 levels increased progressively. 3,The expression of COX-2 in Helicobacter pylori-positive cells of colon polyps was 79.2% higher than the H. pylori-negative 33.3% (P<0.05), two groups have a statistical significance; the expression of COX-2 in Helicobacter pylori-positive colon cancer cells 94.7% was significantly higher than H. pylori-negative 86.4%, (P<0.05), the two groups are statistically significant. The expression of COX-2 in Helicobacter pylori-negative colon cancer (86.4%)higer than in H. pylori-negative of colon polyps (33.3%). The expression of COX-2 in Helicobacter pylori-positive colon cancer (94.7%) higer than in H. pylori-positive expression of colon polyps (79.2%).HP infection and the expression of COX-2 were positively correlated (r = 0.538, P<0.01).Conclusion: 1, The infection of H. pylori may caused colon polyps, colon cancer .and it is maybe an important factor. There might be the correlation between Helicobacter pylori infection and the occurrence of colon polyps and colon cancer.2, In the pathogenesis of colon polyps and colon cancer, HP maybe play a role in the process of colon polyps and colon cancer.,HP infection may influence the plasma gastrin levels and the expression of COX-2 levels. 3, There is a number of factors of the incidence with Colon polyps, colon cancer, the mechanisms are not yet entirely clear, this study solely on the HP infection, plasma gastrin, the expression of COX-2 in colon polyps, colon cancer, because the sample size is small, in the further future, it needs be confirmed in-depth studies.
