Prevalence Of Sensitization To Allergen In Tianjin Patients With Allergic Rhinitis

ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to determine which allergens were prevalent in patients with allergic rhinitis in Tianjin by using "Allergopharma" skin prick test, offer some referencing value for our country's epidemiological survey of allergic rhinitis, help patients reduce the incidence by avoiding to be exposed in the some allergens, provide some theoretical basises to the specific immuno-therapy for patients with allergic rhinitis in local area, and facilitate the international exchange.Methods537 cases (male 266, female 261, aged between 8～77 years) with the symptom and physical of allergic rhinitis, who visited ENT outpatient of our hospital from January 2009 to December 2009, were enrolled in this study. They were performed with "Allergopharma" skin prick test, including single or group allergens of aeroallergens or phagoallergens. And detailed histories were collected in all cases. The results was analyzed byχ2 test.Results1,441 cases (83.7%) showed positive reaction.2,The percent of patients with positive skin tests about aeroallergens were as follows:Dermatophagoides farinae(58.7%),Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (56.0%),Candida albicans(31.7%),Latex(23.6%),Aspergillus fumigatus(19.5%),Penicillium notatum(18.8%),MouldsⅠ(17.5%),mugwort(17.5%).3,The percent of patients with positive skin tests about phagoallergens were as follows:Shrimp(9.1%),Carp(8.4%),Lobster(8.2%),Clementine(5.4%) Walnut(4.8%),Peanut(4.5%),Parsley(4.1%),peach(4.1%).4,The patients with allergic rhinitis in local area were mainly young or middle-aged people, The largest type was persistent and moderate to severe allergic rhinitis (59.0%). The mainly degree of positive recation was "+++". The degree of positive reaction was significantly related to family history (χ2=10.024, P<0.05), asthma (χ2=19.903,P<0.05). Conclusions1,The prevalence of aeroallergens was in patients with allergic rhinitis in Tianjin showed:Dermatop hagoides was the first one, this results was similer with other areas in our country. The second one was Fungus, considering the following factors: For the local developed industory, air-conditioning is more widely used in the people's life and working places.the fungus can live in the air-exchanging pipe (for the center control air-condition) and water pipes; with better living, more ornamental plants went in people's life, the fungus can live on the wet plants, wallpaper, shaggy toys, food and the food additives. To be a coastal city, with a sub-humid continental monsoon climate, Tianjin has the apparent charactors of exchanging from the land to the ocean:with long winter and summer, but short spring and autumn; in the recent 20 years, the NDVI of tianjin was overall declined and the vegetation growing worse and worse, for the above reasons, the pollens was hindered.2,The percent of phagoallergens positive. reaction was low, showed that phagoallergens was not major in the pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis. The seafood lied front, considering the following factors:Tianjin located in Bohai Bay, riching in seafood and freshwater fishes. The local people were favorate eating seafood. Due to the cross-reacting antigen in food and pollen, giving a diagonosis should conside clinical history.3,The patients with allergic rhinitis in local area were mainly young or middle age people. The major degree of positive recation was "+++". The degree of positive reaction was significantly related to family history,asthma. The mainly type was persistent and moderate to severe allergic rhinitis, considering some factors as follow: fast-paced work and life,higher-pressure and poor medical awareness.
