Objective:To disclose the probably protective mechanism of mild hypothermia protecting brain through investigating the contents changes of Antibrain-Antibody(ABAb) and C-response Protein(CRP) in serum in patients with severe traumatic brain injury(sTBI) and the influence of mild hypothermia on serum levels of ABAb and CRP.Methods:A total of 80 cases with sTB1 were treated with normothermia-treated (NT)(NT group, n=40)and mild hypothermia(HT) (HT group, n=40) respectively. ELISA was used to measure serum levels of ABAb, Immune rate nephelometry was used to measure serum levels of CRP. Groups at 1,3,5,7 and 14days after injury to observe the contents changes of ABAb and CRP in serum and the influence of mild hypothermia. Simultaneous analysis two groups at each time point of serum anti-brain antibodies and CRP concentration and Glasgow coma scale (GCS) of relevance. Contrast clinical prognosis of patients in the two groups to research the protective mechanism of mild hypothermia protecting on patients with sTBI.20 serum specimens of normal persons were used as control group, the collection and conservation of normal specimens were the same as that of the sTBI patients.Results:(1) All sTBI patients at each time point after injury, serum ABAb and CRP levels were higher than the normal control group (P<0.01). (2) HT after HT at each time point concentration of antibodies in the serum ABAb and CRP levels lower than NT group, and the difference between the unified Total significance (p<0.01). (3) NT group at each time point of injury, the concentration of serum ABAb and CRP levels were negatively correlated with the GCS score; discharge HT group prognosis is better than the NT group. Conclusion:HT can reduce sTBI patients with serum ABAb and CRP levels, improve the prognosis, have brain protective effect.its brain protective mechanisms may be related to mild hypothermia can reduce the serum ABAb and CRP-mediated damage of brain cells in inflammation.
