Objective To investigate the short -term effect and clinical evaluation of mini anchor in treatment of congenital vertical talus in infants.Method Nine feet in seven patients of CVT were reviewed with an average surgery age of 18 months. All cases were operated with soft tissue procedures on the base of the Kumar Method and further transferred and fixed anterior tibial muscle in the head of vertical talus with mini-bone-anchor directed by muscle-balance theory. A long-leg cast was applied for 12 weeks. A short-leg cast was worn for an additional 6 weeks after the K-wire was removed. Results Nine feet had an average follow-up time of 24 months after operation. All feet have good shape with no recurrence or talus necrosis, but long-term result is waiting for further review. Conclusion With the mini anchor, the rate of early recurrence and talus necrosis are decreased after the operation of congenital vertical talus in infants.
