Objective: To evaluate the short-time efficacy of surgical correction in treating congential vertical talus.Methods: All patients were retrospective analysis.They were diagnosed and treated in Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University.Between June 2010 and March 2017,11 children(18 feet)with congential vertical talus were treated with one-stage comprehensive soft-tissue release and peritalar reduction.There were 7 patients and 4patients with unilateral involvement.The male are 7 and the female are 4.The left legs were 8,the right legs were 10.The age range 1.5 year old to 4years old.In the operation,after one-stage comprehensive soft-tissue release,peritalar reduction,kirschner pin internal fixation and cast fixation were carried out.The plaster was changed regularly after surgery.After 3months,the gypsum and the kirschner were removed,and orthopaedic shoes were ultilized,and the orthopaedic shoes wore are not less than 12 months old.Results: All patients were recieved for clinical and radiographicfollow-up averaging 29 months(range 12 ~ 60 months)from the time of surgery.At last follow-up,there were eight excellent,and ten good results,all patients postoperative appearance and radiographic evaluation have improved significantly,there was neither avascular necrosis of the talus nor wound necrosis,no require subsequent reoperation.Conclusion: Surgical correction in treating congential vertical talus is an effective method to treat congential vertical talus,with deformity improvement obviously,apparence improvement obviously and a low rate of postoperative complications.It is worthy of clinical reference.
