Objective: Retrospectively to research the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in epithelial ovarian cancer tissue , and analyze the correlation between COX-2 and VEGF, the relationship and relevance of these protein of expression and histopathological grade, clinical stage, histological classification. Methods: The immunohistochemical method was used to determine the expression of COX - 2 and VEGF in82cases Uigur women of epithelial ovarian cancer, 40 cases Uigur women of benign ovarian tumors and 20 normal ovarian tissue。and the expression of both the pathological and biological characteristics of the disease .Results: Percentages of COX-2 and VEGF expression in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues were (62/ 82) and (66/ 82) , which were obviously higher than the benign ovarian tumor expression masculine proportion (12/ 40) and (16/40) (P < 0. 05) , which were remarkably higher than the expression masculine proportion which the normal ovarian tissues (1/ 20) and(2/20) (P < 0. 05) ,The positive of COX- 2 and VEGF were correlated with histopathological grade and clinical stage ( P < 0.05), and the ovarian cancer organizes COX-2 the expression and the VEGF expression present correlation,(γ=0.555,P < 0. 01)。Conclusion: COX - 2 the high expression with VEGF at the epidermis ovarian cancer, and the lower expression of the epithelial ovarian benign, hardly marked expression in normal ovarian cell ;both of them in ovarian carcinoma play an important role in tumor genesis and malignant progress, The positive of COX- 2 and VEGF were correlated with histopathological grade and clinical stage ,Therefore, the combined detection of COX-2 and VEGF could be used as predictor of prognosis in epithelial ovarian cancer patients, they can also provides a rationale for the clinical treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer...
