Objective: Through long-term gavage of rats with extraction of tannin and stilbene glucoside from polygonum multiflorum, this subject were designed to explore whether or not tannins influence on the liver and stilbene glucoside impact on the role of tannin.Proved the material base of polygonum multiflorum effect on the liver. This study could offer suggestions for clinical application of polygonum multiflorum more reasonable and safe. Methods:The rats were divided into 6 groups, daily gavage treatment group, kept each of them a record of the general situation of their situation and weight,on the 60th, 90th and recovery period 15th day collect blood from carotid in order to detection of blood biochemical parameters of rat liver, sacrificed and anatomy rats, precision weighing organ weights and calculation of organ index, save the liver to detection of pathological changes. Results:During the experiment, water and food took in by test team and the control ones had no significant differences. The results showed that administration of 60d tannins large dose group and tannin with stilbene glucoside ratio group serum ALT elevated has a very significant statistical significance(p<0.01),Administration of 90d tannins large dose group and tannin with stilbene glucoside 1:1 group serum ALT and GGT elevated has significant statistical significance(p<0.05).Tannins in the short term can promote the metabolism of bilirubin in the liver,Such a contribution by the effects of stilbene glucoside,And with the reduction of stilbene glucoside decreases. tannin and stilbene glucoside 1:1 group can cause liver of bile duct obstruction, And as the extension of time aggravated . Tannins can promote the liver secretion of AChE, Stilbene glycosides and tannin ratio groups significantly lower secretion of AChE, illustrate the two components have a certain ratio of the liver damage induced.60d tannin within the role of elevated serum urea nitrogen, this effect was dose reduced gradually disappear. Administration of 90d stilbene glycoside and tannins can significantly lower serum urea nitrogen, influence can be seen stilbene glucoside role of tannins on renal, the role of renal protection. Pathological observations indicate that administration of 60d tannins on the liver pathological changes were negative, tannin and stilbene glucoside ratio groupsmay cause hepatocytes inflammatory reflect, administration of 90d tannins on the liver pathological changes have not positively correlated with the dose, instead, a small dose of tannin there is a clear pathological changes ,tannin and stilbene glucoside ratio group, with the administration time of growth has seen a more serious hepatic pathological changes. Conclusion: High-dose and long-term gavage for extraction of tannin from polygonum multiflorum have a certain damage on the SD rat liver, and with the reduction in dose reduction, however, this liver damage can be restored. But all of the liver biochemical indicators do not have instructions tannin effect on the liver injury, therefore, the impact of tannins on the liver is not a single result, and stilbene glucoside in some ways affect the role of tannins on the liver.
