Objective: To investigate the incidence of diabetic angiopathies of type 2 diabetes with or without hypertention. Methods: 442 patients with type 2 diabetes were divided into two groups: normal blood pressure group ( 277 cases) and the combined hypertention group(165 cases), age of onset of the two groups, electrocardiogram, echocardiography, brain CT, fundus examination, urine protein, renal function, cholesterol and other data were analyzed retrospectively. Results: The prevalence rates of hypertension in all cases was 37.33%. The constituent ratio of ages in hypertention is: ages below 50, 25.0%, ages between 51 to 60, 35.3%, ages over 61, 46.6%.There are significant difference in the body mass index, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, glycosylated hemoglobin, total cholesterol between the two groups(P<0.01). On the contrary, there is no significant difference in blood triglyceride between the same two groups. The complication rates of diabetic retinopathy, diabetic nephropathy, Cerebral infarction and Coronary heart disease in diabetes with hypertention were 50.9%,61.8%, 16.4% and 29.1% respectively. These data were much higher than non-hypertention groups. Additionaly, these data were higher than the results of a retrospective study of hospitalized diabetic patients in china in recent 10 years (25.2%, 34.7%, 6.5%, 16.0%). The incidence of Peripheral neuropathy, myocardial infrction and heart failure showed no significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion: Diabetic patients with hypertension increased with age, gradually increased after the merger hypertension is more prone to obesity. Type 2 diabetes and hypertension in combination to accelerate the heart, brain and kidney blood vessels important reasons for occurrence and development of serious diseases, so prevention and treatment of hypertension can not be ignored while the control of diabetes.
