Wind stroke is a clinically common and frequently-occurring disease. For thousands of years, Chinese medicine play an important role in the prevention and treatment of stroke, and have made outstanding contributions in reducing mortality, reducing morbidity.Acupuncture is an important component of Chinese medicine, as an effective non-drug treatment, because of its curative effect, easy operation, side effects, and security features, in the rapid development of modern medicine today, acupuncture is still with vitality. Objective:To study electroacupuncture on vitamin C (VitC), vitamin E (VitE), cytochrome C (CytC) content changes of brain and liver tissues in rat of focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury, CIRI),to discuss the mechanisms of electroacupuncture anti-oxidant, to search for the traditional Chinese acupuncture anti-oxidant therapy, with a view to show a more broad application prospects for prevention and treatment cerebrovascular disease with acupuncture in clinical. Methods:Healthy adult male Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were divided into sham-operation group, model group, electroacupuncture group and the pre-electroacupuncture group in random and juxtaposed. We used an improved Longa monofilament to made the model of middle arteries ischemia-reperfusion in rat,to VitC, VitE, CytC for the detection of targets, to identify differences in efficacy between the groups, with a view to explore the rationale theory of acupuncture treatment of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.Results:(1)Neurological behavioral score:score in the electro-acupuncture group as compared with in the model group was higher, they were statistically significant difference (P<0.05). (2) The content of the VitC in striatum:VitC in the electro-acupuncture group as compared with in the model group was significantly rise, they were statistically significant difference (P<0.05);the content of VitC in liver:VitC in the electro-acupuncture group as compared with in the model group content was significantly rise, they were statistically significant difference (P<0.05).(3) The content of VitE in striatum:VitE in the electro-acupuncture group as compared with in the model group was significantly rise, they were statistically significant difference (P<0.05);the content of VitE in liver:VitE in the electro-acupuncture group as compared with in the model group was significantly rise, they were statistically significant difference (P<0.05);(4) The content of CytC in striatum:CytC in the electro-acupuncture group as compared with in the model group was significantly reduction, they were statistically significant difference (P<0.05); the content of CytC in liver:CytC in the electro-acupuncture group as compared with in the model group was significantly reduction, they were statistically significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusions:(1)Electro-acupuncture has the effect of increasing VitC, VitE, CytC content of brain and liver tissues in rat, which can improve anti-oxidant antioxidant activity in brain and liver tissues.(2) electro-acupuncture can effectively reduce the CytC content in ischemic rat brain and liver tissues, thus reducing the injury extent of brain cells, which play a certain protective effect to brain cells.
