The Expression Of Runx2 In Osteosarcoma Tissue And Its Clinical Significance

Objective:To investigate the expression levels of Runx2 in osteosarcoma tissue and its significance.Methods:Detect the expression of Runx2 in specimens from 29 cases of osteosarcoma and 15 cases of osteochondroma by immunohistochemical staining (SP method). Analyze the differential expression of Runx2 in different stages and types of osteosarcoma and osteochondroma.Results:1. The the expression of Runx2 in osteosarcoma group: positive 96.6% (include weak positive 17.2%, middle positive 41.4%, strong positive 38.0%). The the positive rate of the expression of Runx2 in osteochondroma group is 20.0%. Compare with the osteochondroma group, the expression of Runx2 in osteosarcoma group was significant higher (P<0.01).2. The the expression of Runx2 was no statistic significant difference in different age group, different gender group and different location group of osteosarcoma.3. The expression of Runx2 in osteosarcoma heightened with the increasing of the stage of Enneking. Inâ… -â…¡A stages of osteosacoma tissue, the expression of Runx2:negative 10.0%, weak positive 40.0%, middle positive 40.0%, strong positive 10.0%. Inâ…¡B-â…¢stages of osteosacoma tissue, the expression of Runx2: none of negative, weak positive 5.3%, middle positive 42.1%, strong positive 52.6%. There was significant difference between the two group mentioned before.4. Among the three subgroup of osteosarcoma (including osteoblastic osteosarcoma, chondroblastic osteosarcoma, and fibroblastic osteosarcoma), the expression of Runx2 is no statistic difference (P>0.05).Conclusions:(1) The high expression of Runx2 in osteosarcoma was relative with the benign or malignant potential of the pathological changed tissue. And Runx2 was an important factor in the etiology of osteosarcoma.It suggests that Runx2 could be an useful diadynamic criteria for osteosarcoma. (2) The expression of Runx2 was higher in the advance Enneking staged of osteosacoma, which represented that Runx2 was an predictor of poor prognosis in osteosarcoma.
