Objective:to study functional, radiographic and arthroscopic changes on long-term followup of knees with meniscalctomy by Open Surgery. Method:35 cases of osterarthritis of knee were diagnosised by Arthroscopic assessment and treated by arthroscopic debridement . There are 42.5 years old on average, ranged from 34 years old to 55 years old. All patients in 1995-2000 did accepting open meniscus resection. (the same knee with osterartheitis). Suffering from rheumatism, and haemophiliacs, metabolic disease systemic disease and merge intra-articular fractures, infections and other intra-articular disease excluded from research group. All patients with lateral line side and knee radiology index scores, clinical function and using standard scores of knee arthroscopy technology articular cavity inspection line to confirm the preoperative diagnosis and cartilage lesions (Outbridge standards) and clear articular cavity. Statistical analysis, and compares the differences between the indexes.Result:All patients were double genu preoperative X-ray shot pieces and evaluated by tibial angle, joint space narrow(JSN) degree evaluation and patella angle, the difference in OutBrige standards and to genu microscopically cartilage damage assessment, preoperative double knee functional score, according to lysholm knee functional score and Tegner knee movement criteria. In patients accepting open meniscus resection, the preoperative X-ray evaluation and arthroscopic knee cartilage damage evaluation is accepted value rating under the comparsion with significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusions: The secondary osterthritis is more usual in patients accepting open meniscus resection possibly by means of the damage to joint physiological interference, relatively coarse and lack of meniscus. based on the knee functional score, radiographic evaluation and arthroscopic surgery, patients accepting open meniscus resction can obviously accelerate theprocess of osteoarthritis . .
