Objective Analyze the relationship between each aspects of TCM system by standardization research on acupuncture and moxibustion. Build up the standard system table of acupuncture and moxibustion preliminary, and formulate the acupuncture and moxibustion chart and technology particular sheet, offering evidence of acupuncture and moxibustion standardization research and the technology system, promoting the rapid development of acupuncture and moxibustion.Methods On basis of standardization theory, national standardization research, standardization system status, acupuncture and moxibustion standardization research status and tendency, and suitable standardization objects selection, combined with the character of acupuncture and moxibustion standardization research, acupuncture and moxibustion standardization questionnaire was made up first. The questionnaire, which contains 143 items, is designed to investigate the name and location of acupuncture points, work standards of acupuncture and moxibustion, injury settlements of acupuncture and moxibustion, and the depth of acupuncture. Correspondent method and field survey were adapted to survey front-line staff of many acupuncture and moxibustion institutions. After statistics analysis, items of national standard requirement and requirement importance rank were obtained. At the same time, published and unpublished acupuncture and moxibustion standards were collected for further study. With systemic analysis method,'frame of acupuncture and moxibustion system'and'particular sheet of acupuncture and moxibustion standard system' were made up, and acupuncture and moxibustion standard system sheet (draft) was formulated. After being amended by experts, the acupuncture and moxibustion standard system sheet (final) was formulated.Results 180 questionnaires were sent out, and finally got 114 back (63.3%).70 units of 26 cities, including 33 first class of level three hospitals (48%), were selected. And in the informants,96 of them are senior professional title (85%), and 50 are postgraduate education background (44%). The informant constitution guarantees the representativeness and effectiveness of this research. The items importance includes 5 ranks, and 1 is the most important one. After questionnaires statistic analysis,38 items under rank 2 (26.6%), including points name and location, acupuncture pin, filiform needle method (acupuncture and moxibustion work standard, section 20), classification code of acupuncture and moxibustion terminology, acupuncture and moxibustion injury assessment and settlement measures and English terminology of acupuncture and moxibustion, ear points location and effect, and other items, were recommendanted to formulate standard first. And 87 items (rank 2.0-2.5,60.8%), including heat needle (acupuncture and moxibustion work standard, section 12), auricular needle (acupuncture and moxibustion work standard, section 3), three edged needle (acupuncture and moxibustion work standard, section 4), dermal needle (acupuncture and moxibustion work standard, section 7), heat needle apparatus, treatment guideline of apoplexia hemiplegic paralysis, and scalp acupuncture, were selected for standardization in 5-10 years. And 18 items (over rank 2.5,12.6%), including noseacupuncture (acupuncture and moxibustion work standard, section 17), lipacupuncture (acupuncture and moxibustion work standard, section 18), points pulse electrotherapy, microwave needle, and noseacupuncture points, were recommended to made with more researches on them.The frame work includes two levels, and each of them was analyzed by objects classification methods. The first level is general standards, including acupuncture and moxibustion technology standard general rules, terminology standards, calculation unit standard, chart and model standard, translation standard. The second level is dedication standard, including acupuncture and moxibustion clinical practice standard, acupuncture and moxibustion operation standard, acupuncture and moxibustion implement standard. Standards of first level include terminology standard, information classification code, icon standard. And the second level includes history and literature of Chinese medicine, technology standard of evaluation and information technology standard. According to formation and requirement of standard system chart (GB/T 13016-2009), acupuncture and moxibustion standard system chart were formulated.Combined with acupuncture and moxibustion standard system framework, acupuncture and moxibustion standard system particular sheet was made up. The particular sheet, on basis of experts'appraisals, covers 138 items. The items includes acupuncture pin, points name and location, auricular points name and location, awn needle (acupuncture and moxibustion work standard, section 13), ventral stylet (acupuncture and moxibustion work standard, section 16), methods of filiform needle (acupuncture and moxibustion work standard, section 21), acupuncture and moxibustion operation general rule, acupuncture and moxibustion standard general rule, bone-length measurement, acupuncture and moxibustion terminology translation standard, acupuncture and moxibustion injury assessment and settlement, etc. Each standard includes standard system code, standard code, standard name, formulation status, recommended rank, replaced standard code.Conclusion Preliminarily make up the acupuncture and moxibustion standard system framework and standard particular sheet. After discussing acupuncture and moxibustion standard methodology, further study methods may be perfected correspondingly. Current acupuncture and moxibustion standards were all adapted and researched, and relationship between each of them is revealed too. As a result, further study of acupuncture and moxibustion standard may develop more rapid. And the problems, such as chaos in standard research and lack of foresight, can be solved better. This research can promote acupuncture and moxibustion develop more and more rapidly.
