Objective:To evaluate the effect of total hip replacment in treating avascular necrosis of the femorahead (Non-traumatic and traumatic)Methods:To summary 81 hip joints of 79 patients with avascular necrosis of the femorahead (Ficat,Ⅲ,Ⅳ和Ⅴ) in our hospital from 2004-2009.There were 45 males and 34 females, the average age was 40.6(26-80years).33 hips are traumatic avascular necrosis of the femorahead,48 hips are Non-traumatic avascular necrosis of the femorahead. All the cementless acetabular cups were placed at the original anatomic location. The ways of femoral prostheses fixation were as follows:cement for 39 hips; cementless for 42 hips. All patients were with the Harris Score. Radiographic evaluations were made preoperative and during follow-up.Results:79 cases patients with avascular, visit time is 6-18 months, average visit time 12 months. The Harris Score is (33.0-49.9) obviously higher before the operation than (62.1-84.8) after it. Patients recovered early affected limb function. Quality of life improved obviously and can satisfy elementary daily life. Radiographically:all the prostheses were in place. we didn't found infectious diseases and artificial cotyle looseness. Conclusions:Total hip replacment is an effective method to treat avascular necrosis of the femorahead (Non-traumatic and traumatic), as a modus operandi to restruct hip joint. There are no significant differences between the two types in cement and cementless.
