Internet Addiction Among Youth And Its Control Measures

Nowadays, with the growing influence in society causing by Internet,the total number of internet users in China has reached 457million in China,among which 58.2 percent are below the age of 30. Because of their statusand age, hobbledehoys play a dominant role in the use of Internet. How touse net for them is up to the function of it. On the one hand, internet hasopened up a new channel for studying and entertainment for them; on theother hand, it corroded hobbledehoys'soul by the harmful information onInternet. Therefore, Internet addiction among youth has been a great socialconcern and must be solved. How to govern youth Internet addiction hasbecome a problem on theoretical and practical social for the scholar.This thesis aimed to the adolescent Internet Addiction Disorder ( IAD)issue from public sector angle, and started at the research background anddefinitions concerning about it. The author summarized plenty oftheoretical literatures on this topic at home and abroad and based ongovernance theory, hierarchy of needs theory and adolescent social supporttheory. This paper carried out stochastic sampling questionnaire surveys inJinshan District in Shanghai, analyzed current situation of by statistical technique and constructed Probit model to explore some incentive ofadolescent IAD, which arrived at three important incentive:"Grouprelation","Behavior characteristics"and"home environment". We putforwards some possible measures for the governance of adolescent IAD,on the basis of investigating the problems on the governance of adolescentIAD and borrowing foreign advanced experience, which included to builda sound legal and regulatory system internet management; to promote thebuilding of trinity reasonable education system of family, school andsociety; to enhance the establishment of technology system for guardingagainst adolescent IAD in China.
