Objective: Use modern instruments to analysis the interrelated compatibility of Erchen Tang and then establish the multi-dimensional information database of fingerprint by combining with our group early foundational work. The paper was divided into four parts, 1. Modern research development of Er-chen Tang; 2. Analysis the interrelated compatibility of Erchen Tang by experiments; 3. Establish multi-dimensional information database of fingerprint; 4. Comprehensive discussion.Methods: Modern chromatography was used to study the interrelated compatibility of Erchen Tang. Thin-layer chromatography was used to previously analysis the effect of interrelated compatibility of Erchen Tang. HPLC was used to study the effect of wumei in compound Erchen Tang and different doses of wumei combined with main medicinal material on chemical composition of Erchen Tang. After discussing the chemical constituents of compound Erchen Tang, the multi-dimensional information database of fingerprint was established.Results: 1. Thin-layer chromatography was employed to analysis the quality of Chinese herbal. When wumei combined with Erchen Tang or single Chinese herbal, it is initially found that the chemical composition was changed. 2. When Erchen Tang added in wemei compared with Erchen Tang lacking of wumei and Erchen Wan, the content of hesperidin was increased. The rate was increased 15%, 30% individually. and there is an optimal dose of wumei, that is to say, the optimal dose of wumei added in Erchen Tang is from 0.3g to 0.4g in propotion, then the content of hesperidin can reach a maximum. 3. When wumei combined with Erchen Tang can increase the content of ephedrine hydrochloride and total alkaloids. Compared with Erchen Tang lacking of wumei and Erchen Wan, the content of ephedrine hydrochloride was increased 12%, 40% individually. But ephedrine hydrochloride is a toxic effects composition and it is not good when has too much. So the optimal dose of wumei added in Erchen Tang is from 0.3g to 0.4g in propotion and the content of hesperidin can reach a maximum at the same time. 4. Because glycyrrhizin is undissolved in acidic conditions when wumei combined with Erchen Tang, the content of glycyrrhizin decreased. But when Erchen Tang adding in wumei compared with Erchen Tang lacking of wumei and Erchen Wan, the content of liquiritin was increased. The rate was increased 12%, 21% individually. 5. After discussing the chemical constituents of compound Erchen Tang, the multi-dimensional information database of fingerprint was established in order to provide a reference basis for further study, at the same time, it sets a standard for research of Er-chen Tang.Conclusion: Different methodes were used to study the chemical composition of Er-chen Tang through modern instruments. The experimental results were advisable and positively correlated with the result of previous pharmacological research which is when added wumei the effect was improved. Explained the significance of wumei in Er-chen Tang and then established the multi-dimensional information database of fingerprint in order to provide a reference basis for further study. Further more, a research standard about Er-chen Tang was difined.
