Objective To compare the diagnostic value of Discovery CT750 HD coronary angiography with 64-slice spiral CT.Methods Discovery CT750 HD were performed in 28 unselected consecutive patients suspected or confirmed coronary heart disease and 64-slice spiral CT were performed in 39 patients. Also, selective coronary angiography results were chosen as evaluation criteria to compare the diagnostic value of Discovery CT750 HD coronary angiography with 64-slice spiral CT.Result Based on the analysis of coronary artery segments, there were 315 coronary segments in 325 segments (96.9%) into the statistical analysis in Discovery CT750 HD team. Its diagnostic sensitivity of the Discovery CT750 HD was 91.9%, with specificity 96.8%, positive predictive value 79.1%, negative predictive value 98.9% and accuracy 96.2%. As for the 64-slice spiral CT team, there were 417 coronary segments in 443 segments (94.1%) into the statistical analysis. Its sensitivity was 88% with specificity 95.3%, positive predictive value 72.1%, negative predictive value 98.3% and accuracy 94.5%. However, when analyzing the true positive rate, false positive rate, true negative rate and false negative rate, the differences between these two groups in diagnosing the coronary heart disease were not significant(P>0.05).Conclusions Both Discovery CT750 HD and 64-slice spiral CT had high accuracy for detecting coronary artery disease. They could be considered as a valuable noninvasive technique for screening coronary artery disease in suspected patients.
