Clinical Observation And Personal Understandings Of Surgical Treatment By Open Reduction And Internal Fixation On Trimalleolar Fracture

Objective: To explore the illness related factors of trimalleolar fracture, the type of it and the fixation treatment on it. Discus the treatment associated with traditional chinese medicine on the recovery of the operative method of trimalleolar fractures, which is to improve the cure rate. Methods: These 38 cases are from Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine hospital orthopaedic ward since January 2010 to February 2011, who was treated by open reduction and internal fixation on trimalleolar fracture. Their ages are among 17 ~ 72 years old and the average is 43.1. The male accounted for 21 cases, the female 17 cases and among them 19 cases are on left and 19 are on right. Preoperative clinical and radiographic evaluation confirmed the type of the fracture and the degree of soft tissue injury. In surgery we should pay attention to the choice of surgical approach, the protection of soft tissue, the way of fixed and matters that should take note to. Guide the patients to do rehabilitation function training and take necessary measures to prevent complications after operation. After half a year, using the American Association of Feet AOFAS Ankle - The ratings system (Ankle - hindfoot Sorce) was used to evaluate and observe the curative effects. Results: After surgical treatment 25 cases reached excellent level, 9 cases good level 3 cases ok level and 1 poor level. The above good level rate is 89.47%. Conclusion: Surgical treatment is good to the trimalleolar fractures. Fully assessing the fracture and damage before operation and the rational surgery choice and fixed mode are necessary. The treatment on tissue injury is as important as the fracture. Associated chinese medicine with the joint function training played a supporting role in the recovery of the fracture.
