Significant Prognostic Factors By Multivariate Analysis In 238 Elder Patients With Gastric Cancer In XinJiang

Objective:The aim of this study was to indentify and measure the prognostic factors in elder patients with gastric cancer. Methods:The clinicopathologic data of 238 gastric carcinoma elder patients were analyzed retrospectively. All patients underwent radical or palliative gastrectomy in xinjiang Medical University Hospital...Age, sex, national,Smoking history, Drinking histories, complications,tumor location, radical resection, Cell differentiation degree, Borrman type, depth of tumor invasion, distant metastases,TNM staging, preoperative CEA level, postoperative adjuvant therapy with statistical methods. The Kaplan-Meier method was applied to analyze survival rates, Log-rank test was applied in the univariate analysis,and multivariate COX model analysis was applied to perform the independent prognostic factors of the patients. Results:The 1-year,3-year,5-year survival for total cases were 72.6%,25.4%,5.8%.Univariate analysis indicated that national, radical resection, depth of tumor invasion, distant metastases,TNM staging, preoperative CEA level, postoperative adjuvant therapy were prognostic factors(P<0.05). Age, sex, Smoking history, Drinking history, complications, tumor location, Cell differentiation degree, Borrman type, can not effect the prognosis of gastric cancer (P>0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that only national, TNM stage, depth of tumor invasion, postoperative adjuvant therapy were independent prognostic factors. Conclusion:The following prognostic factors can influence the survival of gastric cancer patients:national, radical resection, depth of tumor invasion, distant metastases,TNM staging, preoperative CEA level, postoperative adjuvant therapy; national, TNM staging, depth of tumor invasion, postoperative adjuvant therapy are the independence prognosis factor for gastric cancer of elder patients. In old gastric cancer treatment process, we should the patient comprehensive analysis, take priority, surgical treatment with chemotherapy and radiotherapy and so on a series of adjuvant therapy of indivical comprehensive treatment, can better to improve the prognosis of patients with elderly gastric cancer.
