Objective:By using home-made "TCM Therapeutic sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease evaluation criteria questionnaire", to analyze the quality of life of sequel of pelvic inflammatory disease(PID) patients and curative effect before and after integrated the Chinese traditional medicine (TCM) therapy, to seek the effect of integrated TCM therapy to the QOL of the CPID patients,in order to improve the level of Chinese medicine treatment of this disease, and to provide the basis for developing effective evaluation systemMethods:Unified survey standards, develop QOL scale of the CPID patients, investigated sequel of PID patient outpatient and inpatient gynecological at Chinese Medicine Hospital in Sichuan Province. Based on the project of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan Key Medical Units by State Chinese Medicine Administration Bureau, that's the clinical validation of therapeutic regimens in the treatment of PID. Evaluated their QOL, syndrome, local signs and laboratory examination data acquisition by interview on three timing-points:before treatment,1 month after treatment,2 months after treatment. Established database, contrasted the QOL changes before and after treatment, by using spss17.0 statistical software for statistical analysis. Results:The study included 120 cases, excluding 2 cases of failure, evaluating 118 effective cases.1. Integrated TCM therapy can significantly reduce the sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease syndromes and symptoms in patients with calculus, and signs of syndromes and the markedly effective rate reached 64.41%,66.10%.The disease markedly effective rate is 65.25%.2. After a comprehensive treatment of TCM, all items of QOL scale's mean score increased in varying degrees except concerns about infertility and concerns about ectopic pregnancy, the comparison between 1st diagnostic and 2nd diagnostic on scores, excluding fundament comfortlessness influence sex life, joys of life and abdominal pain not to be understood for, the remaining 11 items were significantly different (P&1t;0.01):the comparison between 1st diagnostic and 3rd diagnostic on scores were significantly different (P&1t;0.01). The weight ratio analysis showed that before treatment, the most influential factor for quality life was the repeating under abdominal pain and sacroiliac pain, which was the most common sequela of PID.The next two items were the evaluation of health and abdominal pain influence emotion; After treatment, the weight ratio analysis showed that the greatest impact is health status. the next two items were joys of life and concerns about infertility.3. QOL scores in all domains before and after treatment were significantly higher, physiological domain increased from 4.24±0.93 points to 5.65±0.41 points, psychological domain points from 3.80±1.14 increased to 4.68±0.75 points, social domain increased from4.70±1.12 points to 5.81±0.49 points. In addition to psychological domain scores comparison between 1st diagnostic and 2nd diagnostic were different (P=0.017&1t;0.05), the other comparison between 1st diagnostic and 2nd diagnostic,1st diagnostic and 3rd diagnostic were significantly different (P &1t:0.01).4. Self-evaluation by patients and objective evaluation of QOL didn't be different before treatment (P=0.682>0.05). After treatment they were significantly higher than before. Self-evaluated points by patients was from 66.36±13.76 increased to 80.97±6.91 points, objective evaluated scores of QOL increased from 65.84±13.53 points to 84.40±6.71 points, and the comparison between 1st diagnostic and 2nd diagnostic, 1st diagnostic and 3rd diagnostic were significantly different (P&1t;0.01).Conclusions:Integrated TCM therapy has good curative effect and can significantly improve the QOL of CPID patients. We need to develop specificity QOL scale on the sequelae of PID, making an important efficacy to develop a comprehensive and scientific evaluation system.
