The Clinical Study Of BuShenHuoXue Decoction In The Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis

ObjectivesOsteoarthritis is the most common rheumatic disease in elderly. Along with the progress of the society and population aging, it seems more and more serious, Osteoarthritis is very harmful to people's health and quality of life. Because the exact pathogenesis is still unclear, and now the inefficiency of the therapy is mainly to improve symptoms. And western medicine treatment methods are single, the price is expensive. Traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of osteoarthritis has accumulated a wealth of experience, addresses both the symptoms and root causes; It has fewer side-effects and low prices compared with Western medicine. It plays an important role in the clinical treatment of OA. Traditional Chinese medicine should actively play its more features, base on the national conditions, use its strengths to serve the public and public services. The purpose of this study to observe the clinical efficacy, security of BuShenHuoXue Decoction in treatment of knee osteoarthritis. We try to explore a more safe, effective and inexpensive treatment. through the establishment of the control group for comparison before and after treatment, as well as cross-cutting groups comparison.MethodsThis was a 8-week, randomized clinical trial.60 Patients with KOA were randomly divided into treating group(treated by BuShenHuoXue Decoction) and control group(treated by Glucosamine sulfate).30 patients in treating group and 30 in controll group.After 8 weeks therapy, we caculate the scores of VAS Visual Analogue Scales(VAS)and Western Ontario and McMaster University Osteoarthritis index(WOMAC)to evalue the pain, stiffness and physical function. Also we found out the side effects. After the treatment course, the available data would be collected, then be be statistically. Through this process, we would get more comprehensive evaluation of two drugs, about the clinical efficacy and security.ResultThe total effective rate:the treatment group is93.33%, the control group is70%, After been examined by Rank sum test, and the two groups have significant difference(P<0.05).The scores of VAS,WOMAC:the VAS scores, WOMAC scores of the two groups'comparison before and after treatment adopt Paired-Samples T Test. The statistical significant is all to show obviously difference(P<0.01).after 8 weeks therapy, the treatment group has better effect on pain of VAS and stiffness of WOMAC comparing to the control group with significant difference (P<0.05)The adverse effects:In the two groups no abnormalities were found in the three routine examinations, Hepatic function, renal function and blood coagulation. During treatment significant adverse reactions do not be found.Conclusion1. Both of the two groups improved significantly in terms of knee functional recovery, pain, stiffness, and Adhesion feeling. And the joint swelling, arom, knee weeks tenderness is obviously improved.2. The total effective rate of the treatment group is better than the control group, and its effect in improving the pain, stiffness, Joint swelling and joint mobility is also better than the control group with significant difference(P<0.05). In addition, it costs less. Through this clinical trial, we know "BuShenHuoXue Decoction" has a great clinical using prospect.
