ObjectiveExploring the efficency of footbathing with Traditional Chinese Medicine based on Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting response by Anthracycline-based combinations drug in patients with breast cancer,so as to provide clinical evidence for the clinical practice.Methods60 cases met inclusion criteria were randomly divided into 2 groups. Treatment group, of 30 cases:the traditional chinese medicine compromising stomach footbaths (once a day)+Granisetron (intravenous drops, twice a day 3mg one time); control group of 30 cases:in Granisetron (intravenous drops, twice a day 3mg one time). Observe the vomiting response per 24 hours the day and 2 days after each chemotherapy,1 chemotherapy cycles (21 days) for a course, record the vomiting response of every single chemotherapy patients. All data were analysised by SPSS11.5. Results were expressed as efficient, chi-square test were used to evaluation.Results59 cases are put into our research practically, and 1 cases fell off in the 60 cases. So 30 cases in treatment group and control group in 29 cases practically. There is comparability and is not stastistical difference at the age, chemotherapy treatment frequency, chemotherapy regimens constitution and TCM syndrome type compare between 2 groups (P>0.05)。After chemotherapy and auxiliary treatment, vomiting treatment of treatment group and control group showed the efficient is respectively 80.0% and 55.2%, the difference is statistically significant between two groups(P<0.05), the difference of the efficient is not statistically significant between two groups in acute vomiting between two groups(P>0.05), but it is statistically significant in delayed vomiting(P<0.05); the difference of the efficient is not statistically significant between different TCM syndrome type (P >0.05), but the difference of the efficient is statistically significant between two groups in deficiency of Qi and Yin syndrome (P<0.05); the difference of the efficient is not statistically significant between different chemotherapy treatment frequency (P>0.05), and it is not statistically significant between two groups in the second and the fourth chemotherapy treatment (P>0.05).ConclusionThese study suggests that:compared with the control group, using the method of footbathing with Traditional Chinese Medicine can ease Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting response by Anthracycline-based combinations drug in patients with breast cancer, expecially for delayed vomiting; There is no differences of influence on vomiting response by different TCM syndrome type and different chemotherapy treatment frequency; By contrasting the control group, according to deficiency of Qi and Yin syndrome, using the method of footbathing with Traditional Chinese medicine can preferably ease Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting response.
