| [Objective]:To explore the expression and significance ofâ–³Np63 in Bowenoid Papulosis, Bowen Disease and Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma.[Methods]:Using immunohistochemical method,â–³Np63 in Normal Skin (n=10), in Bowenoid Papulosis(n=30),Bowen Disease (n=30)and Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma(n=30)tissues were detected.[Results]:1. Expression ofâ–³Np63 in various kinds of skin disease:The Normal Skin showed expression ofâ–³Np63 in the basal layer and near the basal layer. Expression ofâ–³Np63 showed in the basal layer and near the basal layer in 24 cases of Bowenoid Papulosis(BP); showed diffuse in the epidermis in 6 cases of BP. The Bowen Disease (BD)(n=30)showed remarkable expression ofâ–³Np63 in all cell layers of epidermis, except 1 case. Different expression pattern is associated with degree of Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC differentiation:in high differentiated SCC(n=21),â–³Np63 was confined to a ring of basal-like cells surrounding; in moderately differentiated SCC(n=9), most cells containedâ–³Np63 and their distribution was diffuse in center of cancer nests.2. X2- Testing:The expression ofâ–³Np63 in Bowen Disease and Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma showed statistical significant (X2=0.001, P<0.05). Positive expressing rate ofâ–³Np63 in BD is higher than in SCC. Positive expressing rate ofâ–³Np63 in BD is higher than in BP (X2=0.000, P<0.05). Positive expressing rate ofâ–³Np63 in SCC is no statistical significant with in BP (X2=0.125, P>0.05). Positive expressing rate ofâ–³Np63 in Normal Skin is no statistical significant with in BP (X2=0.072, P> 0.05). Positive expressing rate ofâ–³Np63 in SCC is higher than in Normal Skin (X2=0.001,P<0.05)Comparison of the constituent radio of the exposure site between BD and SCC showed statistical significant (X2=0.000, P<0.05),the most incidence of SCC is in the exposure site. The expression ofâ–³Np63 in BD showed no statistical significant between in the exposure site and non-exposure site (X2=0.063, P>0.05). The expression ofâ–³Np63 in SCC showed no statistical significant between in the exposure site and non-exposure site (X2=0.212, P>0.05)3. Correlation Analysis:Positive rate ofâ–³Np63 correlate with expression pattern in epidermis (P=0.000, P< 0.05),degree of SCC differentiation (P=0.004, P<0.05). Positive rate ofâ–³Np63 correlate not with the exposure site (P=0.966, P> 0.05)Disease type correlate with age(P=0.000, P<0.05), the exposure site(P=0.000, P<0.05), expression pattern in epidermis (P=0.000, P<0.05) and positive rate (P=0.000, P<0.05)[Conclusion]:1.Most SCC occurre in the exposure site. The incidence of SCC maybe have some relation with the UV radiation.2.â–³Np63 expression may be a valuable immunohistochemical marker for undifferenti ated and poorly differentiated tumours of epithelial cell origin.3.â–³Np63 maybe a useful marker for identifying BD and BP. |
