Correlation Analysis For Carotid Atherosclerosis And Different Type Of Cerebral Infarction

Purpose:To analyze the correlation between ocular symptoms and Atherosclerotic carotid artery stenosis.The relevance of carotid atherosclerosis and different types of infarction is also been discussed.Methods:The patients were examined by Color Doppler Ultrasound in the neck in The First Hospital of Ji Lin University from March in 2009 to November in 2010.172 cerebral infarction patients with carotid artery stenosis and 35 randomly with non-cerebral infarction patients with carotid artery stenosis were selected for the research.Of those 172 patients> we would discuss whether the appearance of ocular symptoms was associated with carotid stenosis by eye symptoms and the distribution in carotid artery stenosis.Besides,if we eliminate the patients with heart attack recently, the remainingl50 patients were classified two groups:109 patients cases with non-lacunar infarction and 41 patients with lacunar infarction. The remaining150 patients with 35 randomly with non-cerebral infarction patients were examined by Color Doppler Ultrasound. We observed their carotid artery intima-media thickness (IMT)and plaque size and calculated plaque score.We compared the degree of carotid atherosclerosis by plaque score and analyze the coherence of IMT, plaque score with age, gender, blood lipids,blood glucose, smoking and drinking.Result:1.Among these hazardous factors for carotid artery stenosis, high blood pressure, diabetes and coronary heart disease, hyperlipemia and TIA, smoking and alcohol, The incidence of high blood pressure, coronary heart disease,hyperlipemia, smoking and alcohol have no statistics meaning in the the group with eye symptom and without the eye symptom (P>0.05).TIA are meaningful in the two group (P<0.05), and it may be the independent hazardses for the patients the carotid artery stenosis suffererring eye symptom.2. There is no statistics meaning between eye symptom and carotid artery stenosis.3. Amaurosis has the highest occurrence rate of incidence in eye symptoms.4.Among the non-lacunar infarction, lacunar infarctiong and control group, the non-lacunar infarction have most serious influence on carotid artery atherosclerosis, secondly the lacunar infarctiong, last the control group. 5.Plaque score were positively associated with age.In other words, With increasing age,plaque score also increases.6. Lp-a have statistics meaning to the occurrence of carotid artery atherosclerosis.Conclusion:1.TIA may the important risk factor for carotid artery stenosis with the eye symptoms.2. The vascular have mostly severe stenosis or occlusion in patients with eye symptoms who have carotid stenosis.3. There is an indispensable relationship between the degree of carotid atherosclerosis and different types of cerebral infarction.4. Lp-a is the most dangerous factor in the carotid atherosclerosis formation..
