Objectives:To investigate the clinical analysis of relationship between metabolic syndrome and acute pancreatitis patients. Methods:By 1996 Chinese Medical Association of Surgeons "AP clinical diagnostic criteria" and 2004 CDS recommendation of First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University, To collect clinical information was also admitted to the onset of acute pancreatitis associated with metabolic syndrome in 42 patients (MS group) and non-metabolic syndrome associated with acute pancreatitis 86 Cases (non-MS group) from October 2007 to October 2010. The two groups for age, sex, Ranson score, Balthazar CT grading score, serum calcium, serum CRP, PaO2, in-hospital days, the fast time, the relief time of abdominal pain and the normalized time of serum amylase days, local complications and the incidence of complications were compared between two groups. Results:MS group and the group for age, sex compared the difference was not statistically significant. Compared with group non-MS, Ranson score, Balthazar CT grading score, serum CRP was higher group non-MS, serum calcium, PaO2 were lower, in-hospital days, the fast time, the relief time of abdominal pain and the normalized time of serum amylase days in group MS were significantly longer than that in group non-MS. local complications and the incidence of complications was higher group non-MS. There were significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion:Metabolic syndrome is closely related to the severity of acute pancreatitis, Metabolic syndrome could be used as prognostic factors in acute pancreatitis.
