ObjectivesTo observe the efficacy of "Wen Tong 1 Decoction (WJ1D) "washing in pr evention and treatment of neurotoxicity induced by oxaliplatin-containing chemotherapy regimen, to evaluate the security of external bath of TCM (t raditional Chinese medicine)。Meanwhile, in the prevention of TCM chemothe rapy induced oxaliplatin into toxic effects of peripheral nerve to prelim inary discussion.MethodsOn the receiving chemotherapy with oxaliplatin 60 patients with gastr ointestinal cancer were randomly divided into treatment and control group s. The treatment group received traditional Chinese medicine (Wen Tong 1 Decoction) and Washing.1 day before chemotherapy, Chinese herbal infusion was used to soak the feet and hands,20min, bid,7 to 10 days as a cycle, Wa rm bath (water temperature of about 35℃-40℃). Control group received no bath. Observe that how the two groups peripheral neurotoxicity happen, an d to observe the completion of chemotherapy, adverse reaction rates and se curity of TCM bath. And the preset low, medium and high three different L-OHP cumulative dose group (85-289mg/m2,290-689mg/m2,690~1620mg/m2),0 bservation of three cumulative doses of L-OHP group and the group level o f peripheral nerve toxicity.ResultFrom 2004 to 2011, in Guangdong hospital of traditional Chinese medici ne, from the hospital histologic diagnosis of gastrointestinal malignancy 60 cases of patients who accepted the oxaliplatin chemotherapy, divided in to treatment and control groups randomly. The average cumulative dose of L-OHP was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). Treat ment results are as follows:1 The incidence of gradeⅢ,Ⅳneurotoxicity was lower(3.4% vs 11.7% P<0.05) between the treatment and control groups. Cumulative dose group neurotoxicity observation:In the medium cumulative dose of L-OHP, the inc idence of gradeⅢ,Ⅳwas lower (3.2% vs 11.3% P<0.05) between the treat ment and control groups; In low L-OHP cumulative dose group and high L-OHP cumulative dose group, however the incidence of gradeⅢ,Ⅳwas not sign ifiant(P>0.05), but the rate in treatment group was lower than that of t he control group incidence (0% vs 1.4%,20.0% VS 40.7%)2 Combined with the treatment group and control is divided into low, medium and high cumulative doses of 3 different groups. Low, medium and h igh low of 3 different dose group of comparison, the total incidence of n eurotoxicity respectively is 13.5%,24.1%,54.8%, there is a significant di fference of statistical significance (P<0.05)3 In use of external bath of TCM, all did not see skin allergies and s kin side of stimulating symptoms on the healing process and the subsequen t clinical follow-up.Conclusion1 It have certain prevention by oxaliplatin into the toxic effects of peripheral nerve that in use of external bath of TCM with "Wen Tong 1 Decoction".2 Oxaliplatin-induced peripheral nerve toxicity is closely related wi th the cumulative dose. The extent of adverse reactions increase with incr easing cumulative dose(consistent with relevant literature report).3 Traditional Chinese medicine has no obvious adverse reaction on ski n to wash outside and is worthy of application and show good safety.
