Clinical Observation On The Curative Effect Of The Treatment Of Hemiplegia After Apoplexy By The Combination Of Electroacupuncture And Acupoints Plaster Application

ObjectiveTo observe on the curative effect of the treatment of hemiplegia after apoplexy by the combination of electroacupuncture and acupoints plaster application, and try to investigate its mechanism of action, to find out a convenient, effective, and a low price treatment for clinical application.MethodsAccording to the diagnostic criteria and inclusion criteria,60 patients with hemiplegia after apoplexy would be selected and randomly divided into treatment group or control group with 30 cases each. The treatment group would be treated with electroacupuncture and acupoints plaster application while the control group with only electroacupuncture. For the two groups, the same points and the same method of operation would be chosen in the acupuncture part, and for treatment group, two sets of points of the therapy of acupoints plaster application would be alternate used. The frequency of treatment was set of one time per day, keep treating for 3 weeks, which is a course of treatment, there would be a evaluation of the effects when the treatment finish.ResultAfter treatment, comparing the overall effects of the two groups by Ridit test, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05), including that the treatment group had a better effect than control group. For the clinical neurological deficits and activities of daily living of the patients in two groups had been significantly improved after treatment, compared with each other by indepentment sample test, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05); for patients in each group, comparing their clinical neurological deficits and activities of daily living before and after the treatment, by paired test, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05), indicating the treatment group had a better effect than the control group.ConclusionBoth the therapy of electroacupuncture and acupoints plaster application and the therapy of electroacupuncture have remarkable effect in treating hemiplegia after apoplexy. Both treatment can improve the symptoms of the degree of neurological deficits and activities of daily living. After treatment, the overall efficacy of the treatment group was better than the control group and the treatment group had a more obvious improvement in neurological deficits and activities of daily living. Comparing the two groups with each other, the difference was statistically significant. It reflects that the therapy of electroacupuncture and acupoints plaster application is one of the effective treatment for hemiplegia after apoplexy.
