Studies On The Chemical Constituents Of Trifolium Repens L.

Trifolium repens L. is a weed of the leguminosae plant, our country distributes widely. Its entire grass all may be used as medicine. It mainly treats epilepsy, hemorrhoids hemorrhage and tumour. [1] Studies in recent years indicated that it also can treat menopause syndrome, enhance artery elasticity and cure tumor. To develop the use well of Trifolium repens L., explores its pharmacology effects, we have conducted the system research to its chemical composition.The chemical constituents of the effective fraction were investigated intensively.7 compounds were isolated and purified by silicagel, polyamide column chromatogram. On basis of their spectral data,5 of them were elucidated asβ-sitosterol(Ⅰ), palmitic acid(Ⅱ), quercetin(Ⅲ), isoquercitroside(Ⅳ), daucosterol(Ⅴ).Essential oil of Trifolium repens L. was studied by GC-MS.23 compounds were identified by GC-MS using headspace injection,36 volatile compounds were identified by the conventional steam distillation.
