Background:Intracranial aneurysm is the limitations of abnormal cerebral artery lumen expansion, resulting in an aneurysm wall tumor-like prominence. The rupture of aneurysm is being extensively interested due to its high rate of death and disability. But for the intracranial aneurysm etiology and pathogenesis is unkown. We have identified a number of sites which may be associated with intracranial aneurysm. We found some SNPs closely with aneurysm. These genetic loci include some interesting candidate genes: Collagen typeⅢA1(2q31), versican gene(5q), fibrillin 2 gene(5q23-31), ACE gene(17q23)……Now we through the comprehensive assessment to investigating the association between COL3A1 gene exon-30 polymorphism and risk of intracranial aneurysm.Materials and Methods:Case and control studies addressing relationgship between COL3A1 gene rs1800255 polymorphism and risk of intracranial aneurysm were indentified by literature search in CALIS batebase, CBMDISC,the Cochrane library,Pubmed ,VIP batebase,CNKI batebase, Embase,WanFang batebase and Ovid batebase. The relevant data were extracted from methodological eligible studies for meta-analysis. The group and the control group the distribution of population COL3A1 genotype OR is effect index by REVMAN4.2 Meta anal`ysis software, and according to test results used random effects models and fixed for data consolidation.Results:Selected of three documents, a total of 388 patients and 433 control subjects were included. Comprehensive analysis shows that COL3A1 GG genotype (homozygous wild-model) combined OR = 0.55 , 95% CI of (0.41,0.74). COL3A1 GA genotype (heterozygote model) combined OR = 1.74 , 95% CI of (1.28,2.35). COL3A1 AA genotype (homozygous for the model) combined OR = 1.54,95% CI of (0.79 , 2.97). COL3A1 allele A combined OR = 1.63 , 95% CI of (1.27 , 2.08).Conclusion:1,In the Chinese population, COL3A1 gene exon-30 gene polymorphism is associated with the susceptibility of intracranial aneurysms.2,In the Chinese population , COL3A1 gene GA genotype, AA genotype and allele A were associated with the susceptibility of intracranial aneurysms.3,The research covers not other races or the family's aneurysm but only intracranial aneurysms cases in the Chinese population. So the relation between the COL3A1 gene and the global intracranial aneurysms need to research further.
