| Objective:To observe the clinical effect enhancement of Long dan xie gan pill to treat Chronic prostatitis with dampness-heat down-flowing. through the clinical research of Long dan xie gan pill combined with western medicine.Methods:With the randomized and controlled method,72 patients of the Chronic pelvic pain syndrome caused by inflammatory of dampness-heat down-flowing were selected,36 cases in the test group, while 36 cases in the control group. Observing the changes of nationnal institude of health-chronic prostatis symptoms inventory (NIH--CPSI), scores of traditional chinese medicine (TCM)symptoms, effect time and expressed prostatic secretion (EPS) test after 6 weeks'treatment.All the results were analysised with SPSS17.0 and P≤0.05 means that there is statistically differences between 2 groups.Results:In the trail group 7 cases were cured completely,17cases were effective,7 cases marks got improved and 3 cases were ineffctive. The total effective rate,marked improvement rate were 91.8% and 70.6% respectively.Meanwhile the total effective rate,marked improvement rate were 87.5% and 40.6% respectively in the control group.There was no statistically differences in total effective rate (p>0.05) but was in the total marked improved rate between 2 groups. (p<0.05) Compare with being treated before both groups got much improved in NIH-CPSI,effect time and scores of traditional chinese medicine (TCM)symptoms (p<0.05).There was statistic difference in EPS test within each group (p<0.05) but not between 2 groups. (p>0.05) There were no severe side effects during the research.Conclusion:The treatment of Long dan xie gan pill combined with western medicine can relieve Patients's pain and micturition symptoms. It is a good choice to treat Chronic prostatitis with dampness-heat down-flowing accumulated with Long dan xie gan pill combining western medicine because of its safety and effectiveness.
