The Study On Traditional Rural Cooperative Medical System In Fujian Province

Between the middle term of the 50s and the end of 80s of 20th century, as one of the widely implemented medical security system in Chinese rural area, the traditional rural cooperative medical system was praised as successful "sanitation revolution" by The World Bank and World Health Organization. This thesis takes the traditional rural cooperative medical system in Fujian Province as the study object, guided by theoretical methods of relevant knowledge in history, sociology and economics and based on historical materials such as archival literature, newspapers and periodicals and local records, it first summarizes the development course of the traditional rural cooperative medical system in Fujian Province, thus analyzes the historical background and reason of rise and fall of the system, and then focuses on the explanation of implementation methods and characteristics of this system. On this basis, this thesis makes the study on the traditional rural cooperative medical system in Fujian Province more concrete, systematical and comprehensive through the history review on typical case——the traditional rural cooperative medical system of Sudi village in Zhenghe County and relevant comparative study on the traditional rural cooperative medical system, and finally analyses and sums up the efficiency of the traditional rural cooperative medical system in Fujian Province and some inspiration on new type of rural cooperative medical system.
