| Infantile cerebral palsy (CP) is a syndrome for non-progressive brain injuries and developmental defect, marked mainly by dyscinesia and abnormal posture. In traditional Chinese medicine, CP is called a kind of disease as "wuchi ","wuyuan","weizheng","chidai" and so on. The incidence rate of CP is 1.8%o-4%o and 1‰-5‰accordingly in the demestic and overseas, and as a kind of current main disease leading to infantile disability, CP affects severely puerile physical and mental health and brings the society and the family a heavy burden. The treatment of CP is still a worldwide medical problem and also is research hotspot in neuroscience domain hithreto. Up to now, since there is still no better therapertic method for CP, the functional rehabilitation of infantile CP has been becoming a focus and difficulty for the global scientific research institution. At home and abroad, the rehabilitative treatment of CP includes mainly exercise therapy, traditional chinise medicine therapy, surgery therapy, medication therapy, physical therapy, homework therapy, speech therapy, music literary style therapy, assistant tool use, sensory integration therapy and so on. Of the total, exercise therapy, which is adopted mainly including Bobath training,Vojta training and shangtian training and so on in overseas, is a kind of therapertic method that accepts long-term repeating stimulus after a series of training aiming at remnant dyskinesia and abnormal postture of CP to improve motor function. However, Acupuncture combined by exercise therapy is adopted mainly at home. To explore the significance of electro-acupuncture therapy in early rehabilitation of infantile cerebral CP and provide strong clinical evidence to investigate further its mechanism of action, in the study, infantile CP less three years old were selected as research objects, combined modality therapy with electric acupuncture combined by exercise therapy were adopted and traditional Chinese medicine theory were applied as a guide. Objective To explore the significance of electro-acupuncture therapy in early rehabilitation of infantile CP.Methods 137 cases of infantile CP in earlier period were randomly individed into observation group 81 cases and control group 56 cases, and observation group was treated with electric acupuncture combined by exercise therapy, but control group only with exercise therapy, among the total, electric acupoints used were Baihui, Sishencong, "Niesanzhen " ,Dazhui, Ganshu, Shenshu. Coordiantion of acupoints:"Zhisanzhen", fengchi were added for the Cases combined with mental retardation; Yuntingqu, Jiaosun with hard of hearing; Yamen, Lianquan, Jinjin, Yuye with language barrier; "Jiansanzhen", Quchi, Waiguan, Neiguan, Huogu wih paralysis of upper extremities; Biguan,Huantiao, Zhusanli, Sanyinjiao, Taichong with paralysis of lower extremities; Shenmen, Taichong, Huogu, Yongquan with Epilepsy. Exercise therapy adopted mainly Bobath training to conductive education. Shangtian training were used with scoliosis;Vojto training were used in turning and bending the body over. Once everyday, with 10 days being a therapeutic course, the treatment was conducted next therapeutic course 7 days off, usually 12 courses being carried out. Gesell developmental schedule and GMFM were used respectively to assess the development quotient test and gross motor function before and after treatment. curative effect and GMFM scores of two groups was observed and the relationship between different age groups and accordingly curative effect in observation group was analyzed. Results:Observation group exceeded significantly control group in the curative effect (P<0.05); there were significant defference in the curative effect of different age groups (P<0.05), and the younger the patient is, the better curative effect there will be; Self-comparison of two groups showed that the scores of GMFM increased significantly in comparison with pre-treatment (P<0.01), and the scores of GMFM of observation group were obviously higher than those of control group (P<0.01).Conclusions:electro-acupuncture therapy posses evident therapeutic action in early rehabilitation of CP, and the younger the patient is, the better curative effect there will be. |
