Objective:To investigate the feasibility, safety and efficacy of spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy (SpDP).Methods:The clinical data of 7 cases of SpDP in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University were analyzed retrospectively. The data include gender, age, height, body weight, preoperative complications, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, pathological results, postoperative complications, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative platelet count and operative mortality. Results:Out of the 7 cases, one case received the SpDP combined with splenic vessel resection, while the other cases received the SpDP with splenic vessel preservation. The operation time is 2.93±0.38 h and the intraoperative blood loss is 392.86±109.65mL. All the seven pathological results shows benign lesion. Only one case suffered pancreatic fistula, who finally got recovered after medicine therapy and percutaneous drainage. There were no other complications and operative mortality. The postoperative platelet count is 273±43.76*109/L and the postoperative hospital stay is 17.86±8.07 days. Conclusion:SpDP is a safe and feasible procedure, which is worth for selected cases, such as benign neoplasm in pancreatic body and tail.
