Male breast cancer is a kind of rare malignant carcinoma. It has a very low incident, due to this fact, it's always been wrong diagnosed, and hardly been found in its early stage. By some clinical observations, we have discovered a phenomonon that ER and PR have a high expression in male breast cancer. This research observed 26 male breast cancer patients, comparing with 26 female breast cancer patients who have the same conditions. By retrospective clinical cases observation research, we try to find out some diffrence between male and female breat cancer in the ER and PR expression.1. Materials and MethodsWe have assembled all the patients'documents including ages, the sites of tumor and the clinical stages. All the patients are divided by gender into two groups, the two groups have no differences by the statistics. Before the treatments, physical examinations, breast ultrasound examinations, breast molybdenum target X-ray, and blood routine examination are performed on all the patients. And it have been evidented that there are no surgical contraindications. All the patients have been performed improved radical mastectomy. Depending on the individual conditions, different treatments have been given to these patients . The treatments include medical therapy, endocrine therapy and radical therapy.Several statistics are collected such as pathological stage, the number of ER and PR expression in every stage.2. Results(1)The male group has a 0.76%(26/3421) incidence of all of the breast carcinoma in the same period.(2) In the stageâ… , the rate of the expression of ER and/or PR in male breast cancer is 100%, comparing with that in female is 85.71%.(3) In the stageâ…¡, the rate of the expression of ER and/or PR in male breast cancer is 83.33%, comparing with that in female is 66.67%.(4) In the stageâ…¢, the rate of the expression of ER and/or PR in male breast cancer is 100%, comparing with that in female is 60.00%.(5) In the stageâ…£, the rate of the expression of ER and/or PR in male breast cancer is 100%, comparing with that in female is 50%.(6) In all the stages together, the rate of the expression of ER and/or PR in male breast cancer is 92.31%, comparing with that in female is 65.38%.(7)3 cases of Her-2 is positive in 26 MBC, comparing with 6 in 26 FBC.(8)No evidence is suggested in the relationship between Her-2 positive rate and ER and PR positive rate.3. ConclusionsBased on the expression of ER and PR in male brest cancer and female breast cancer, we can make the following conclusions:(1) The MBC has a low incidence.(2) The expression of ER and PR in the MBC tissue is higher than that in FBC tissue, which is suggesting that the endocrine therapy should be more effective.(3) The hyper-expresion of Her-2 in the MBC is lower than that in the FBC, and there is no significant relationship with the expresion of ER and PR.
