As a group, the traditional physicians, as well as the training of how to be physicians, have attracted lots of attentions in the medical history research. However there are few papers about how the famous physicians come to be. This essay, according to the Hu ZhongTian (a novel, it means a pot contains a world) and Yi Jie Xian Xing Ji (A novel, it means Evils of Physicians), mainly focus on the requirements and training of being a physician, the ways they practised and the ways they use to become famous in Qing Dynasty. The Qing authority did not proclaim professional qualification on physicians. The laws did not make strict punitive measures on quacks. The kamar also could not constrain the actions of physicians. And although the patients developed some methods to evaluate the patients which would push the physician to improve their skills, the later create a system to cope with them. In a word, it was easy to become a physician in Qing. Also the self-discipline had little influence on physicians in that time. Even the pursuit of money resulted in some of them give up the medical ethics. There were two ways for physicians to practise:settling down and work in the city; migrating and work from one town to another. By analysis the two novels, we can find the marketization of medicals in Qing Dynasty.People always owned their ways to fame but two roads mainly led them to success. One was by the praise among friends and relatives, which usually happened in a small area and the other was by the recommendation of gentries, which was applicable to the new comers who could not turn to their old acquaintances.
