Headache is one of the common clinical symptoms, nowadays, many diseases can be seen headache symptoms, such as colds, rhinitis, encephalitis, hypertension, high cholesterol, cervical disease, intracranial disease, cerebrovascular disease and other systemic diseases, etc. Chinese medicine treatment of headache is unique and has a good clinical efficacy. The ancient physicians summarized a wealth of valuable experience. In "shanghanzabinglun" which is praised as "the ancestor of the medicine book" by doctors later, headache is one of the main symptoms, the diagnosis and treatment of headache by author Zhangzhongjing creating is still effective guidance to clinical medicine, we should summarize and draw the laws. Many physicians in the Qing Dynasty period not only inherited treating headache laws in "shanghanlun", but also had a more substantial development, and had accumulated rich experience in the diagnosis and treatment of headache based on the laws of ancient physicians treating headache. So basic theory and clinical practice in the medical standards in the Qing Dynasty are already quite mature, there is great research value and excavation space.The headache discussed in this paper is mainly medical headache. This article has four parts. The first part is the literature review, we can understand the clinical treating headache situation in recent years though accessing to literatures of treating headaches reported in the CNKI. The second part is the history of headache treatment, which is divided into the Warring States Qin Han Northern and Southern Dynasties, the Sui Tang Song Jin Yuan periods and the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It discusses and summaries characteristics of famous doctors treating headache in each period. Warring States Qin Han Northern and Southern Dynasties laid the foundation for future generations treating headache. In the Sui Tang Song Jin Yuan periods, the theoretical system of headache treating inherited the past dynasties theory and inspired the future generations. In the period of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the law doctors treating headache had more features, the theoretical system of headache treating had been already mature from basic theory to clinical practice. The third part Zhangzhongjing treating headache laws is made in terms of etiology and pathogenesis, therapy, prescriptions, diseases avoiding exacerbations thinking, and each term is summarized. This part mainly relates to clauses which Contain clear symptoms of headache in "shanghanlun" According to Zhangzhongjing six dialectical thinking, headache is divided into the taiyang headache, the Yangming headache, the shaoyang headache, the Jueyin headache, the xuanyin headache and the cholera headache. The clauses of the headache in "jinkuiyaolve" supplement treating headache law inadequate in "shanghanlun". The fourth part is the Qing Dynasty physicians treating headache regularities. First, the Qing Dynasty physicians comprehend the physiology, pathology about the basic theory of headache. Second, the famous physicians of the Qing Dynasty interpreted the theory of diagnosis and treatment headache in "shanghanlun". Third, the Qing Dynasty physicians summarized the etiology, pathogenesis, syndrome, pulse, treatment method, prescription, and treatment method is mainly concentrated in the oral decoction, not including the acupuncture treatment. Finally, the physicians of the Qing Dynasty treating headache inherited medical history as well as the case of headache treating.In summary, although "shanghanlun" has significance in guiding doctors later treating headache, it is not perfect in the headache characteristics of the symptoms, etiology, pathogenesis, therapy, prescription. The development of headache treating in the Qing Dynasty period has been getting more perfect, the Qing Dynasty physicians discussed in detail the headache characteristics of the symptoms, pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation, treatment method, herbs, headache basic theory more accurate and scientific than before, headache pathogenesis more detailed, syndrome more complex, treatment method and herbs more rich and diverse. They inherited the headache diagnosis and treatment and headache pulse in "shanghanlun", and fully affirmed significance of Zhangzhongjing treating headache. Qing physicians on headache treating had a profound examination and had been already quite rich and mature from basic theory to clinical practice. They not only inherited the headache treating laws in "shanghanlun", but also had development which had complemented the headache treating deficiencies in "shanghanlun"...
