Objective:Stenosing Tenosynovitis is also called trigger finger. The purpose of the study was to provide a more reasonable choice for clinic treatment, compared with therapeutic efficacy of steroid injection and percutaneous with needle-knife.Method:We choose patients who suffering from trigger finger treated in the out-patient clinic of orthopedics in the First Affiliated Hospital of GuangZhou TCM and the GuangDong Hospital of TCM, from 2009.8 to 2010.2. We told the patients that the dominance and inferior position of both treatments, let the patients choose their treatments, divided patients into needle-knife group and injection group. Followed up patients in 1 week and 3 months, estimated the improve degree of the involved digits, analysised the data and evaluated the result.Result:1. Compare with two groups, patients suffering for longer time were willing to accept needle-knife treatment. There were statistically significant difference(P<0.05). The ones suffering terrier pain, popping and locking of a trigger finger were willing to accept needle-knife treatment. There were statistically significant difference(P≤0.01).2. Followed up in 1 week, success rate of treatment in needle-knife group is higher than injection group(P≤0.01), including reducing pain, popping and locking. All patients still had nodules of the tendon.3. Followed up in 3 months, success rate of treatment in needle-knife group is higher than injection group(P<0.01), including reducing pain and popping. Resolution of locking in both group had almost the same success rate, There were no statistically significant difference(P>0.05). All patients still had nodules of the tendon. All patients had no serious complaint or recurrence.Conclude:1. Patients who had ever had other treatment, suffering for longer time, terrier pain, popping and locking of a trigger finger are easier to accept needle-knife treatment.2. Needle-knife treatment provides a higher success rate than steroid injection.3. All patients still had nodules of the tendon. All patients had no serious complaint or recurrence. Needle-knife treatment is a safe way to release trigger finger.
