ObjectiveTo investigate the therapeutic effects of "Bo's Abdominal Acupuncture" on cervical spondylosis patients.Methods70 cases of cervical spondylosis were randomly divided into a treatment group (receiving treatment of "Bo's Abdominal Acupuncture") and a control group (receiving treatment of traditional acupuncture). For 4 patients suspended the treatment, there were 34 cases in treatment group and 32 cases in control group. A short-form of McGill pain questionnaire (SF-MPQ) and therapeutic effects were observed.Results1. Values of Short-form of McGill Pain Questionnaire (SF-MPQ)There were no significant differences of observation values SF-MPQ (P >0.05).After first and full course of treatment, each values were improved (P<0.05-0.001). The differences compared at first treatment, full course, follow-up within 3 months showed significant (P<0.05).2. Value of Curative EffectCompaired the curative effect of two groups, among the treatment group,25 cases was cured,8 cases made significant progress,1 case was inefficacy. Among the control group,18 cases was cured,9 cases made significant progress,5 cases was ineff icacy. The difference was significant (P< 0.05). Both the total effective rate and the total cure rate showed significant difference (P< 0.05). Conclusion"Bo's Abdominal Acupuncture" has a better clinical effect on symptoms and functional assessment improvement, has an objective evaluation on Value of curative effect. It is a worthwhile work to do further research. As a innovative acupuncture therapy to treat cervical spondylosis, abdominal acupuncture is a active and effective technique and has important clinical significance.
