Objective:Compared the efficacy of treating local cervical spondylosis by way of three treatment methods of self-exercise (only instructing patient's neck movement) or self-massage or foreign manipulation.Method:All of 105 cases (male 53 cases, female 52 cases;the minimum age of 17years, maximum 60 years, mean age 35.5 years) were divided into 3 groups randomly, group of self-exercise treatment(A,34 cases) and of self-massage treatment (B,36 cases) and of foreign manipulation (C,35 cases). The study-time was a week, and the comparative efficacy of 3 groups of patients were done on the 3rd,5th, or7th days after treatment. Results:In the course of the study, on 5 days14 cases of self-exercise group (A,34 cases), lost because they can not insist on, and 3 cases of self-massage group (B,36 cases) loss, and 1 cases of foreign manipulation (C,35 cases) lost. the results show that self-exercise group (A) get the worst effect, foreign manipulation group (C) the best effect, and self-massage group (B) have better efficacy for treating the local cervical spondylosis. Conclusion:Treating local cervical spondylosis by foreign manipulation is effective and convenient; it is a recommended way of treatment. If self-exercise, self-massage treatment and foreign manipulation by practitioners can be combined together, it will show greater clinical efficacy and long-term effects.
