Objective:Sui-Qing-Wan (SQW) is one of the more often used recipe in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinic. It was reported that SQW has better clinical and experimental anticancer effects. However the report about the effect of SQW in tumor metastasis was very rare. The objective of this job is to study the effect of SQW on tumor metastasis.Methods:Clinical aspects:the choice of 38 patients in Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer, randomly divided into two groups:treatment group with SQW and Chemotherapy Protocols, control group with Chemotherapy Protocols, the patient's tumor metastasis was observed. Experiments aspects:First, hepatocarcinoma cell lines, H22 cells, were injection into the right legs of C57BL/6 mice to produce a model lung metastasis. Mice were randomly divided into three groups:SQW low dose group, SQW high dose group and control group. Ten animals were killed after 16 days every group, and their lungs and node were observed, lung metastatic rate tumor foci were counted. The rested animals were raised until their nature death. Increases in life span (ILS) were counted. Second, B16 melanoma cell lines, B16 cells, were injection into the right armpits of BALB/C nude mice to produce a model lung metastasis. Mice were randomly divided into three groups as did above. Animals were killed after 21 days, and their lungs and node were observed, lung metastatic rate tumor foci were counted.Results:Clinical aspects:SQW not only can improve the subjective symptoms of non-small cell lung cancer, but also inhibiting tumor metastasis. Experiments aspects:First, SQW has a marked inhibitory effect on H22 tumor, average inhibitory rates of SQW in high dose group and low dose group were 11.71%and 36.83%(p<0.05) respectively. SQW in high dose group and low dose group display a significant inhibitory effect on lung metastasis compared to the control group (p<0.05, p<0.01). The mousy survival stage in two experimental groups was longer than those in control group, low dose group was longest, its ILS was up to 37.77%. Second, SQW has a marked inhibitory effect on B16 melanoma, average inhibitory rates of SQW in high dose group and low dose group were 23.26% and 41.95%(p<0.05) respectively. SQW in high dose group and low dose group display a significant inhibitory effect on lung metastasis compared to the control group (p<0.05, p<0.05).Conclusion:Clinical aspects:through clinical observation, we found SQW has a marked inhibitory effect on non-small cell lung cancer, also can reduce the adverse reaction of chemotherapy, It can improve the subjective symptoms of non-small cell lung cancer. Experiments aspects:Experiments in vivo show that SQW has significant inhibitory effect on tumor and tumor metastasis. SQW can lengthen animals'survival stage. In experiments, we have not found SQW can prompt tumor metastasis, and obvious toxicity. But we have found SQW can suppress the function of the immunology.
