ObjectiveThis study is designed to test quality of life of migrants from Three Gorges Reservoir in Shandong province, analyze the influencing factors of quality of life, take effective measures to promote their quality of life and provide scientific evidence for improving health staus and quality of life.Specific research objectives:1) Investigate and test quality of life of migrants from Three Gorges Reservoir in Shandong province2) Analyze and ascertain influencing factors of quality of life of migrants from Three Gorges Reservoir in Shandong province3) Take effective measures and propose useful suggestions to promote the life quality of migrantsMethodsWe use both quantitative research and qualitative research methods, and quantitative research method was mainly used. The quantitative data was collected by the cluster randomized sampling method.324 migrants from Three Gorges Reservoir moved to Jinan, Jining and Zibo in Shandong province and 270 local residents was investigated. The objects are 16-80 years old. The MOS 36-item short form health survey, SF-36 and the questionare made by ourselves were used to test their quality of life. The data we collected was input into Microsoft Access twice, and then we processed them by Microsoft Excel. Besides, we use SPSS 16.0 for Windows to analyze the quantitative data. The qualitative ducuments was collected by typical sampling method and interviewing focus objects (provincal leaders, leaders in countryside and migrants). This helps us to understand the meaning and background of the quantitative data. Results(1)The reliability and validity analysis of SF-36 indicated that Cronbach's a coefficient and Split-half coefficient both were higher than 0.7; the correlation coefficient between subscale and scale was from 0.667 to 0.847, and seven coefficients were higher than 0.7, so the reliability is good. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin Measure of Sampling Adequacy and artlett's Test of Sphericity indicated that the scale is proper for factor analysis. The two factors were basically consistent with the supposed theroy, so the validity is also satisfying.(2)The total score of migrants is lower than local residents. We eliminated the possible interactive effect by delaminating age, sex, education and occupation, and we have found out that the score of migrants was still lower than local residents.(3)By single factor analysis, multivariate analysis and two categorical logistic regression, the main factors of total life quality score of migrants were:choronic illness, life addaption, age, satisfaction with personal income, health insurance, alchol intake, prevalence in two weeks, education, and hospitalization in the past one year.①The influencing factors of physical functioning include:age and prevalence in last two weeks.②The influencing factors of role-physical functioning include:sex, education, occupation, health insurance, life addaption and satisfaction with personal income.③The influencing factors of bodily pain include:choronic illness, alchol intake, living addaption, and satisfaction with personal income.④The influencing factors of general health include:marriage status, health insurance, living addaption, and hospitalization in the past one year.⑤The influencing factors of vitality include:sex, marriage, health insurance, living addaption, and satisfaction with personal income.⑥The influencing factors of social functioning include:education and prevalence in last two weeks.⑦The influencing factors of role-emotional include:education, smoking, alchol intake, relationship satisfaction with local residents, and satisfaction with personal income. ⑧The influencing factors of mental health include:sex, marriage, education, health insurance, living addaption and satisfaction with personal income.ConclusionIn this study, the reliability and validity analysis of SF-36 were good. The life quality socre of migrants was lower than local residents. The influencing factors were multiple. Female migrants, migrants with lower education, illness, poor living addaption, and low income, lack of health insurance, and migrants who were bereft of one's spouse were high risk groups. We should pay more attention to them. It suggests that administration department in charge of migrants should not only provide favorable living condition and employment position, perfect the health insurance system, improve migrants'physical health, but also pay attention to their mental health needs in order that their mental health can be inproved. And finally migrants can adapt to local environment, and then the aim of "realization of migration, social stability and economic prosperity" can come true.
