Objective: To get the current social mental health state of the Three Gorges immigrants and analyze the related factors; Using structural equation model to analyze influences of mental health status among the Three Gorges immigrants and the relationship between latent variables; to evaluate the variables in the model, and to provide scientific basis. Methods: Multi-stage sampling was used in this study, 320 immigrants and 320 local residents were selected by stratified cluster sampling in Shandong province. Surveyed by Psychosocial Stress Survey for Groups, Symptom Checklist 90, Social Support Rating Scale and basic status table of resident, Firstly we explain the common psychology of immigrants with describing method and then establish model with confirmative factor analysis method. Results: (1) The psychosocial stress condition of three gorges immigrants were compared with those of local inhabitants, and we found that the migration experienced much more psychosocial stress(P<0.001). The scores of subjective support, objective support, use of support and the total level of social support of three gorges immigrants were lower than local residents(P<0.001). (2) According to the positive standards whose SCL-90 total score equal to and higher than 160, the three gorges immigrants'positive rate is 19.3%. The SCL-90 total score and all of the factors in three gorges immigrants were higher than the local residents. Compared with the conventional model, immigrants'scores were significantly lower in interpersonal sensitivity, hostility (P<0.05), and the scores were significantly higher in summarization, horror, depression, anxiety, psychotic and the SCL-90 total score. (3)The factors that impact the mental health of the Three Gorges immigrants include psychological stress, the relationship between government and immigrants, the status of health, social adjustment, sex, economics, etc. (4) Using structural equation model to analyze influences of mental health status among the three gorges immigrants, from the result of the model we can understand that the setting satisfaction, social support and psychological stress make direct effect on the mental health of the three gorges immigrants, their regression coefficients are -0.169, -0.224, and 0.524 respectively. Conclusions: The mental health of immigrants were not optimistic, they have different degree of psychological problems. The influences of relocation to immigrants were long-term, lagging and complicated. More importance should be attached to the mental health Problems of Migration in Three Gorges Reservoir Area, the influence of the Personality character, Social Support, Coping style on the mental health should be taken into consideration.
